St. Thomas and how far they will go this year

Post by KDavis20 »

How far does everyone think they will go this year. I personally think they could win state as long as they make it. I believe that they will play a good Red Wing team in the section championship, where the game could go either way, however I believe St. Thomas has more depth. What do you guys think?

STA might make state, but I don't think they can win it.

Both Red Wing and STA are very good teams. Either could do a lot of damage at state including winning the whole thing. Will depend on how they progress during the year and injuries can play a role too.

RW has more depth and is stronger on defense and has two solid goalie's where STA has decent defense and a relatively untested goalie. Coaching is solid on both teams but I'd give the nod to George N at RW.

I think that in 3A you cannot forget about Lourdes as well. They are a young team and will get better as the season goes. They don't have a whole lot of depth either past their first two lines.

3A is very strong this year.

3A

3A is a very good section this year and I think STA is no better than a 50/50 bet to get back to the tourney this year. Now if they do win the section, they will have to go through (most likely) the 8A champion and the 5A champion at state to win it. And playing 3 physical games in 3 days against the states top teams might be a little too much for STA... This year.

I know Warroadsalt agrees with the last sentence at least

STA

Oh come on The Red Wing coach better than the Vannelli's? Nope, STA has a good chance to do damage in state. Class A looks like A bunch of teams clumped at the top.

Red Wing vs STA coaching

They both have excellent coaching. Ask around (outside of RW and STA circles). IMO, RW coaching is better. Just MO
