When you say "warroad's old rink" do you mean the old gardens downtown? or the olympic arena? THe old gardens rocked, had 1 side without any glass. Talk about up close and personal with the play there.

Worst Arena

Post by pukstopshereML »

I'll go with Ely on this one, it's way out in the middle of nowhere and the smell of the air is enough to make you noxious. Hibbing fairgrounds are pretty bad too. I have to defend my home rink of Moose Lake on this one. Yeah, it does look terrible, and I think the visiting locker rooms suck (sorry bout that) but we've got new boards and seemless glass plus I think it's the best ice I've ever skated on, and that's without being biased. So what if it's cold, you call yourself a hockey player? Then get used to it!

The old cloquet arena is sweet. I played there my last year of bantams in a tournament and I thought it was a great atmosphere.

Has anyone been to Nymore Arena in Bemidji lately, I'm pretty sure it takes the trophy hands down.

Redwood Falls

Post by 3AsianSensation0 »

I don't know if anybody remembers but back in squirts and pee wees we had to play a team from Redwood Falls and back then they didn't even have an indoor ice rink. It was brutal driving hours away to murder a team in freezing cold weather. I'm pretty sure they've gotten a new rink since then though...

Redwood Falls has got a beautiful rink. It opened about 5 years ago in my oldest son's last year of bantams. From what I rememer, they did almost everything right. Plus, it's connected to their fieldhouse which is connected to the high school. My youngest is a pee wee and we'll be making the 2-hour drive their in January.

Anyone remember the old "bubble" in Gilbert? That had to be one of the all-time junkers.
Actually, I think they still use natural ice in their newer arena, too!
