I've been tryin', PS, but no one is answering the phone at Bronco Arena. I tried a couple other options up there, but no one even seemed to know there was even a game in town.

Final Score:

GR - 12
Greenway - 2

At one point, Greenway was only behind 3-2, but after Greenway got their second goal, Rapids took off from there and never looked back.

Boy, it's gonna be a long haul for the Raiders if they don't show some improvement, and fast...

I just looked at their schedule. Look at the next 8 games:

Saint Thomas Academy (Ranked #4 in A)
Warroad (Ranked #9 in A)
Hermantown (Ranked #13 in A)
Saint Louis Park (Ranked #12 in A)
Lakeville North (knocking off ranked AA teams left & right)
East Grand Forks (Ranked #15 in A)
Fergus Falls (1-1-1 playing 3 very good teams)
Marshall School, Duluth (Ranked #2 in A)

They could be 0-12 with all running-time games.
Let's hope that's not the case!

Throw in Virginia, Hibbing, Grand Rapids, Duluth Denfeld, and Cloquet (all ranked) later in the year and it makes it tough to see a reprive in their schedule.

Hard to beleive they were the top seed in 7AA just five years ago.

Is it a numbers problem?
How are their youth programs doing?
Did Guyer and Sertich make them that good when they were there

Guyer and Sertich helped, obviously. There was more to them than that, because they have been at least competetive before and after that. Still, numbers are playing a good part of it now.

I'm not sure how the youth programs are doing, but I think I read somewhere that in 2 or 3 years they have a solid group coming up, so (if my memory is correct) there is hope -- if they all stay there.

Hopefully, this year's group can pull one out of a hat and give them something to build on this season. It can't be any fun for anyone involved to keep losing by touchdowns.

That is the downside of a small school stacking the schedule. This schedule has to be one of the toughest in class A.
