Rank played football too. He was a running back, and got bruised and banged a lot.

I would have to agree with this Robbie22Mayo fellow although he looks like he might of attended Mayo... and his opinions might be biased. This 1st line is extremely solid, 14 points in just 2 games. I would not consider them garbage but then again you are probably from Austin or some town that despises mayo.
(1st Line) Tony Sackett Rochester Mayo 4 1 5
(1st Line) Matt Alexander Rochester Mayo 0 5 5
(1st Line) Phil Hurley Rochester Mayo 3 1 4
Watched these boys play Roseville, good game overall even though the Roseville boys had twice the speed of the Mayo kids and kept testing Donahue. It will be fun to hear about the Mayo Century game and to watch Mayo when they play Lakeville.

I am not sure mayo is as great as u all say. They should have lost to Armstrong if they had a goalie at all.

I am not saying that they are great. I am saying that they are an alright team and Canzanello is not all they have.

hey now im from austin and as far as i know we have nothing against mayo..musta missed the memo...canzo best in big nine? cant say he is or isnt but i can say him and kirby are the top 2 hands down there is no way to end the arguement of who is best so lets just kill it and say its a tie despite personal belief...both are tremendous helps to there respective teams...but austin would still be top 3 without kirby...where would mayo land?...now the real reason i posted, who is this trip kid and tell me everything you can about him..wheres he from, what were his stats, whats his middle initial, w/e ya got...last i heard they had a 3 way rotation of new guys...id find it hard to believe trip could fill enough shoe to make century close to last years team...they were somethin else...and how bout lakeville north takin down bloomington how can they not be the favoreds after that? i think the big nines top four could go anyway but with these four teams included:
lakeville north
jm
century
austin

i dont think mayo has enough behind canzy to make it happen but this is based on our scrimmage with them so maybe they have made upgrades, time will tell....

-Petersen-

Tripp headed back home, Kyle Ewing plays for Century now, or at least did against WBL.

Yes Tripp left and went back to Colorado......they are playing a 3 man rotation between Ewing, Murphy, and Borgmann. Kinda sucks having to find a servicable replacement after losing one of the best goalies southern mn has ever seen. Even with Century's top line their goalies could cost them some games this year.
Zamboni Drivin Fool

i would say mayo got outplayed and they only won because of their goalie. But i am glad to see them win and cheer by the fans like that, it has been a long time since they were any good, and beat century. Good game!

I think Mayo out played Century in the first 2 periods. Mayo however got outplayed by Century in the 3rd and donaghue kept mayo in that game.

yea man the third line for mayo with pickel and dawg had a goal each. I think that mayos depth will continue to grow throughout the season. I cant wait to see it when Charlie steps it up. I think they are the top team along with JM, and Century will need to seriously rebound from a three game losing streek to start their season.

Mayo outplayed Century in periods 1,2. The refs allowed Century to outplay Mayo in the 3rd.

Look into the 1A thread, Austin is for real and are supposed to be in the top of the Big 9 this year, also mayo is a little down from there teams 3-4 years ago.

austin vs mayo

Post by hockey24 » Wed Dec 14, 2005 12:50 pm

Mayo out shot austin but that's all, by the end of the night mayo didn't even want to go to the puck. Goal tending was the key to austins win. Austin is much deeper than mayo also, Austins D is probly the best in the league if not the state. Time will tell if they can keep the streak going

Austin's D the best in the state??? youve got to be kidding me. Maybe the best in the big 9...maybe. Do you think this just because of Kirby or what?

Minnwild, I agree .. I almost LOL'd when I saw that. Best in state.....24 don't quite so biased and open your eyes and ears a bit to what is going on in the entire state. Oh, and don't forget the season runs until March...so let's wait and see how all these teams play the whole season before you have Austin all alone on a pedestal.

Hockisbest,

Why don't you quit bashing kids on here? You just got done in another thread telling me to quit, and now here you are saying that you were laughing at someone saying that they were the best D in the state.
