My prediction:

H-M: 4

Tartan: 3

H-M should be able to take it to Tartan considering how many players Tartan lost last year; Tartan is definitely down this year.

HM 4 Tartan 2

Post by bob »

I was at the game. It was a good one. HM dominated much of the time. Wood was very good. Hill missed by inches on several shots. They must have been trying to beat Wood low on the glove side. McEnaney scored twice. Skarda & Larson had the others. O'Brien good in the nets for HM. The refs gave Tartan several power plays in the 3rd. Typical CSC game in which the refs make every call they can against HM in their effort to help out HM's opponents.

I tried to read your post. But it was so poorly written as to be completely incomprehensible. Maybe you should try again.

Misters McBird35 & Hockeyman1024 appear to be the recipients of a fine District 622 education.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... nhs>bob at: 12/19/05 9:19 am

Bob were u drunk while you watched the game? First of all Hiil did outlpay Tartan but Tartan probably had more quality scoring opportuities, bad breakdowns by Hill left several Tartan players with point blank chances. How can you say Wood played good, the 3rd and 4th goal he should have stopped, and your scouting report to shoot low glove side is completely wrong, everyone knows to shooot high on this kid (goes down every shot.) Third, the refs gave Tartan all the calls, gimme a break, the first goal that Hill got- never was a goal, they never signaled a goal and their communication was brutal. Bob I watched this game from an unbiased standpoint and obviously you are a huge Hill homer.

I thought it was an entertaining neighborhood/conference clash. Tartan played their typical blue collar hard working style and Hill used their speed and puck control. Hill has more talent but the Titans were gritty and kept the game close. I don't think the officiating played a factor in the outcome at all. It will be interesting to see how the Hill/NSP game plays out this week. If Hill wins (I'm sure as expected) they would have beaten the three main conference contenders in a row and would appear to be off & running towards a conference title (not their main objective, but nice).

HM - Tartan game

Post by bob »

I was not drunk Sat. afternoon. I waited until Sat. night. Low glove side is not my scouting report on Carey Wood. I have not seen enough of him to know. I was only commenting that HM missed several times by inches low on his left side. Tartan did get 3 power plays during the last 12 minutes of the game including a short 5 on 3. The same thing happened in the STA game. In both games HM was controlling the puck, yet were called for the majority of penalties. There were several times Tartan players took out HM players behind the play that were not called. There were 3 times Tartan players slammed their sticks against the boards, which should be called as unsportsmanlike conduct. Although my preference would have been for Coach Humphrey to deal with this, not the refs. And as I said at the start, I thought it was a very good game. I agree that HM gives up too many scoring opportunities. The forwards are too interested in offense and do not get back on defense. Both Tartan & STA had too many odd man rushes because HM forwards are headed in the other direction. I too am looking forward to HM playing BSM & North this week. Neither one are gimmies.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... nhs>bob at: 12/19/05 12:55 pm

Dear Bob, I got a kick out of your waiting til Sat. night to get drunk, me too. Sorry for attacking you, I just thought your assesment of the game was wrong, oh well we all don't always see the game in the same light.
