AHA played Shattuck's prep team last year and lost to them 4-3 in OT so yes there are MSHSL teams that can compete with Shattuck.

it's just the Shattuck Prep team for anyone in Minnesota who really cares first of all. And second, I would guess there are more teams in the MSHSL this year that can play with the Prep team. I think AHA can beat them this year and maybe some other teams too.

Warroad

From the STRIB last week.

Elk River is one of the state's 10 largest districts, with about 11,200 students, and has been growing 5 percent to 6 percent a year. It has 16 schools, including three high schools. A new elementary building opened this fall, and another is to open in 2007, Noyed said.

From the GF Herald Sunday,

Warroad enrollment has dropped from its peak of 1,570 in the 1995-96 school year to 1,240 in 10 years. Projections call for a decline of another 145 students over the next four years.

But they still manage to win more big game that the Elks!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... trapper at: 10/31/05 12:17 pm

There is also something called ER needs a new section because they clearly dominate their section. However when it comes to the Schwan Cup and the State Tournament, they get embarassed by everyone that they play.

If it is, it has changed recently. Went to school with his sister and I'm pretty positive they are in the district. Regardless if you are knowledgeable about the situation you speak of, the "drive" you speak of is actually closer than most people that live in Rogers and are part of the district. And I never said that they don't "reach out". Zimmerman & Rogers are brand new schools, I personally grew up wanting to play for ER because that is who I watched growing up and ended up going to Rogers. I'm not denying at all that Elk River "brings people in", but I can't help that either. I'm sorry if people want to play for a team that goes to State...

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... k at: 10/31/05 7:33 pm

Here is a link to a GIS data base of the school districts in Minnesota. Use the tools on the left to take a closer look. You are correct! He should be playing for Rogers, he is part of the 11,200 and growing, I guess it is better to be a number in the big game than a part of any small little Northern school tradition that you feel the need to take shots at.
