Im not all that worried, HM was just better than I anticapated, and the game will be close than I thought. But then again WBL hasnt played yet, so after their game on sat everyone will have a better idea of the what the game will really be like.
The curse lives on.....

White Bear Lake will take Hill to the woodshed and we can all watch it go down on FSN Tuesday night. Just kidding Hill fans....should be a very good game to watch. No stake in the game just messing around.
White Bear Lake will win however...why?....more Catholics enrolled.

neutral perspective:

I was at the last half of the hill game, and let me tell you this, it wasnt pretty... I thought that Hill's opponent was terrible and WAY overrated! As far as Hill goes, they moved the puck well, but I sure did not see a quality system at all! I think Hill playing a bad team was something that will make Hill fans excited and bear fans nervy! But in the end, when they play the bears, it will be a 1 goal game, which will be exciting and hard hitting! Get out and see it, I know its televised... but locals need to go watch a classic game!

-The Slinger

This is going to be a good hockey game. Hill Murray has man a talented forward. They also have a lot of team speed and good conditioning. I know very little about White Bear, but I am sure they are quality in every aspect of the game. This will be a real good hockey game. I think there will be a lot of goals scored: Hill Murray 7, WBL 4

From a season-wide standpoint both of these teams should have plenty of motivation from last year: Hill losing in the section quarterfinals to North St.Paul and WBL getting knocked out once again in the first round at state.

This game is usually a struggle between Hill's speed and skill versus WBL's size and strength. Hill is bringing a lot of talent to the game, but WBL has an experienced goalie and solid defense, I'll have to go with WBL 4-3.

Yup, GR19, the Polars stunned Hill in overtime if I remember right. White Bear made short work of North St.Paul in the semifinals.

I have to agree with gunslinger, WBL's goalie is too good and their defensemen are going to knock Hill's forwards around too much for Hill to get a lot of really good chances. Based on what these teams are bringing from last year, they should both be in the top five in the state so this game should be one of the best of the year so far.

ok being from mahtomedi (yea i know sorry) its hard to choose sides between to schools that are clear rivals with us. altho having watched wbl scrimmage us early this year id agree with them relying too heavily on grun which could get them into trouble. id say it will be a close game but in the end it will go in Hills favor with a score of 3-2

Grun was not even at their first scrimmage and they still played well. Like i said before wait until wbl plays century and then we will have a better understanding of how good they are.
The curse lives on.....

How is century gonna be a measuring stick of what to expect from WBL this year...Century lost to a Tartan who returned no one good except Cary Wood. I still agree though WBLBEAR06 that it wil be again yet another great Hill WBL game which makes this series and rivalry what it is

Ok, here is my unbiased opinion on the game. Neither team will score more then 4 goal. It will be 4-3 or 3-2, both teams have their advantages and disadvantages. Hopefully WBL can do what Hill did, by that i mean have the team look surprised on what they did on the ice. So WBL needs to take it to Century to get Hill a little nervous and to second guess themselves
The curse lives on.....

Hey wblbears06, the game tomorrow night will NOT show how good WBL will be because Centuy lost like two lines of senior starters from last year including their golden boy "KANGAS". I think if WBL is as good as u all say tomorrow could be like 10-rip. Also I think that leading up to the game Hill will have more competition and better preparation, which will give them the edge on WBL.

P.S.-This is a huge rivalry and the game will be televised on FSN, this could completely change their abilities and the final outcome. My prediction is 5-4 Hill(OT).

Just out of curiosity, not trying to offend anyone here-has white bear ever won a televised game?

Hill, unless last years schwans cup was televised then no, i dont think wbl has won a game when it was been televised.
Fastplay - I realize that Century isnt the best team, but watching that game compared to a scrimmage will give everyone alot more to compare too. What i have seen from wayzata they werent that great either, and johnson definatly is not a challenge, but who knows we just have to wait and see. As for them winning 10-0, ha i doubt that. WBL plays too much of a defensive mind to score 10 goals. I think wbl win somewhere in the 5-6 range to 1 or 2.
The curse lives on.....

WBL, I agree that this game will be the first time this season when hill and white bear will be tested. This game will no doubt determine #1 seed in 3AA--there is a lot riding on this game, and it still early in the season. Luckily for HM, I believe has beat the bears in sections more often when WBL wins the december game (there is info on the website i can get later, but its really late right now and i want to sleep). So, thats good news since most people are thinking wb will win.

yeah ur right that Wayzata and Johnson were not the best teams either. But I do think WBL will destroy century, who has not won is a scrimage or game all year.

I cant wait to see high school hockey on tv, and gl to your bears, but im still sticking with 5-4 hill(OT)!!!!!!!!!!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... play100 at: 12/3/05 1:38 am

Hill reportedly won against Johnson today 3-0, but from what i heard they lost Arrigoni in the process to fighting. From what i heard he will not be able to play in the next game either which is against WBL on Tuesday. This is a huge loss for Hill since Arrigoni is argueably the second best forward on the team behind Hoeffel. I'd say hes easily the most exciting player to watch anytime he takes the ice, but this makes this a very interesting twist in the rivalry game on Tuesday.

Hillhockey, this game will not deciede the number 1 seed for the section, WBL can lose this one and still get the top seed because they play a much tougher conference and non-conference schedule. (provided they do well all season )

backofnet,

One point, Hill and WBL play an equally hard non-conference schedule. I'd put Hill's against anyone in the state. You will get no argument from me about strength of conference however...

WBL 4 Rod. 2. WBL dominated, puck just would'nt go in the net for them.
