And for the H-M and Johnson game, just a correction: H-M 4, Johnson 0.

About the Johnson game, their goalie played spectacular. He faced 53 shots so if you do the math, he saved 49 of them. He did very well in trying to keep his team in it.

Quote:
WBL dominated, puck just would'nt go in the net for them.

Not trying to be rude here or anything, I'm just curious. If they dominated, then why were the shots 26-16 in favor of Century?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Hillfan at: 12/4/05 9:10 am

Anything to the note that Arrigoni will not play against WB due to fighting against Johnson?

Backofnet,

Well easty said the shots were 40-10 White Bear, but the Pioneer Press stated in their summary that the Bears were outshot 26-16 and Faust made 26 saves. I'm not trying to make a deal of it because a win is a win, but those shot totals are much different from each other.

Nolookpass,

Yes, Arrigoni is out for the next game due to the incident in the Johnson game. It's tough and too bad, but hopefully the Pioneers should be alright since they still have enough scoring up front.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Hillfan, I don't know where the press got thier stats, but they are way off. Even without Arrigoni, Hill still has plenty of weapons. As a WBL fan, I have a bad feeling about this one.(the WB/Hill game)

Thanks for the information backofnet. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of these mistakes in the boxscores this season...

STAT CORRECTION

Post by WBLBEARS06 »

I was probably the only person at the WBL game last night, and the shots were NOT 26-12 in favor of Century. It's flip flopped meaning wbl had 26 and century had 12. Century never had an offense chance other than the numerous pp's wbl gave them. Also century's goalie was much much better than anticapated he made a lot of great save including a few breakaway's and odd man rushes. With watching last nights game this is what wbl will need to do in order to win. 1. STAY OUT OF THE BOX!! 2. Control the tempo 3. stay physical because hill is much smaller than wbl. Im still going to say a one goal game in wbl's favor.
Heinikenkid, is this Arrigoni fighting suspension 100% true in which case means he cant play in the WBL game?
The curse lives on.....
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... It was just a little scuffle, and he retaliated from a cheap hit that drew a 4 minute penalty. The refs decided it went to far though and gave him a misconduct.

Lech had concerns going into the game about just this type of incident. Lech wanted to drop Johnson from the schedule this year, but Moose (Johnson's coach) really pushed Lech to play them & move the game to Phalen arena to show off the renovations made to the arena. Tought to loose a quality player, but kids will be kids.

I was at the White Bear Century game and the Bears totally dominated after the 1st period. Century had a little sustained pressure in the opening minutes, but probably had two scoring chances after that. It might have been 8-0 if not for Century's goalie in the first and second period. The Bears played short handed for 9 minutes in the 3rd and their forecheck kept the Panthers bottled up in there own zone for most of it.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >Grovetown Scotty at: 12/4/05 8:32 pm

White Bear vs. Century

Post by easty905 »

In response to my shot quote and how I have my sources:

1) The guys that take down shots at Aldrich Arena, don't really pay attention. In my years of taking down stats and watching the game, I have consistently been at least 5 if not 10 shots off of what the stat keeper at Aldrich has. The fact of the matter is he doesn't really care to much and doesn't pay much attention.

2) How I got the rough number of 40-10 for shots was from this:

The manager that took stats for the team, allowed me to look over his stat book and see what they were. Now to clear any uncertainty, He is very good at taking down shots that have A) Reached the net and B) If the goalie were not there, it would be a goal

When I looked at the book after the 2nd period, I saw that the shots were 25-7 in favor of White Bear.

Oh and on another note, Tony Roth had two goals last night and the pioneer press had a miss print.......(Please Correct me if Im Wrong)

White Bear vs. Century

You are correct, easty, Roth had two goals. Not sure how the PiPress came up with Hauswirth. The announcement at Aldrich had it wrong too, giving it to Grun.

I concur, Aldrich is not so good at reporting accurate stats. Just ask anyone from Hill.

Shots

Post by Hill Alum »

Yes, Aldrich does a very poor job of taking shot totals. However, I do not think that they were too far off in the Hill-Wayzata game...Hill definately had the upper-hand. As for the game on Saturday, I see that O'brien played in nets and got a shut-out...How did he look? is he getting the start on tuesday??

Johnson VS Hill

Post by John04 »

I am trying to figure out how you consider a check on the boards a cheap shot. The way it went down was Arrogoni was going for a loose puck and was taken out by the Johnson Defensemen. (No call was made) After that collision the puck ended up in Arrogoni's feet and he was blasted by the other Johnson defensemen. (Again No Call) The Arrogoni goes nuts and starts punching the Johnson player while his back was turned. When it was over they gave Arrogoni a 5:00 and he was tossed from the game. Then the refs decided to give the Johnson player 2:00 for roughing on the original hit (which at first was not called) and 2:00 for roughing for wrestling with Arrogoni to defend himself. I love how people on this board asume that if a Hill player got thrown out it had to be because of a cheap shot. Lets just face it Johnson hung in with Hill and frusterated them all night. Hill did out shot them pretty bad but most of those shot were on the power play and were taken from the outside. Arrogoni is getting exactly what he deservers.
(A spot in the stands for the White Bear Game)

Dear John04

It is obvious to me you are pretty jealous of arrigoni and the hill squad. Is your lil Johnny only good enough to play for the Johnson Governors. As a eastsider myself you disgust me. You probably were not even at the game. Brian Arrigoni(sp) was hit in the face with a stick and then thrown into the boards all while he has the puck. At that time it looked like he clutched his shoulder right away and gave up the puck where it went into the corner, at this point while bending over a Johnson player came charging in and struck Arrigoni while he wasn’t even trying. That is a cheap shot John04, typical Johnson. Then Arrigoni defended himself while trying to get out of their. At this point they put him in the box only until the Johnson coach went ballistic which was the only reason he got kicked out. And the score sheet read he was dq, which means only for that game. So you will be able to see him play against white bear on fox sports net. That is if you even have cable john04.

I have no side on this one... just know that!

I know this: That if you get tossed, your out for the remainder of the game and the NEXT game...MSHL rules!

Maybe this was talked about, but I heard that he hurt his shoulder, and would be out anyway... can anyone confirm this? Just curious!

Should be a great game!

-The Slinger
