What you are missing is the fact that Arrigoni grew up playing with most of the Johnson team. They were trash talking him all night and trying to get at him. Looks like it worked.

Arrigoni is a great kid and he doesn't get in fights for no reason. I wasn't at the game, but I know that he must have been provoked before going off on some Johnson kid.

arrigoni is an exciting and talented player who unfortunately can play a little too emotional at times. it's too bad he allowed himself to get sucked in to retaliation however it would be hard not to given johnson's style of play and the attention a sniper like arrigoni gets.

Gunslinger,

His shoulder is fine. So to answer your question: No, he is not out with an injury.

And lets also not forget that the Bears are tied for the most consolation championships in state history. Even though we have never been able to win that first round game, we usually take care of business at Mariucci.

speaking of banners at aldrich, i've always wanted to know (other than lack of space) why the suburban east flags aren't hanging there as well? it is, after all, white bear's home too.

Past Games

It should be a good one tonight. Won't be able to make it, but I will be watching on FSN. The last two times these teams have met have been one goal games. 2004 Section 5-4 Hill OT and Last year 3-2 WBL. Note that in both those games the team that scored first did not win the game.

I would give Hill the edge on offense, even without Arrigoni. I would say that the defenseman on both teams are pretty equal, with WBL having the advantage in net. Looking back over the last 5-6 years, the team with the more experienced older goalie has won every game that I can think of.

Im going to counter the previous entry! I agree that the forwards of Hill are very talented... But to say they have equal D.... I absolutely disagree with that one! I think WBL has a much deeper and more solid D. Not to mention Grun, who many are forgetting to mention, who from what I understand has comitted to UMD.

Just a side note, I was told by a couple guys that went WBL/RC game that Roth for WBL looked very good, and patient!... I guess we will see tonight... Will be interesting to see these teams for the first time!

-The Slinger

agree with slinger that white bear's d has a huge edge over hill's. white bear's d are far more physical and stronger in the corners and in front of the net. they will not allow hill's forwards much on the inside. in contrast i think that hill's d is soft and will lose the battles all night and wear down. this will be the difference in the game.

Over the years I would of made a lot of money betting the underdog in this game. This will probably be the most physical game of the year for both. I've seen "Cup Checks" that have had every male in attendance groan, go uncalled. If the Ref's "let em play", White Bears size and power win. If they don't swallow their whistle, Hills speed will prevail.

What goalie for hill do you think is getting the start since they both have played one game and done well??

I don't know if Gonz in fact had tried to appeal his suspension but if he did it got rejected because he is out for tonights game, that should put you more at ease WBLBEARS06, but Hill still has plenty of fire power up front, we'll just have to see if Faust and WBL's D can put it out

Cllg...I would think that Phillipi would get the start. Based on last year, it is obvious he is Lechner's boy. Let's just hope the outcome is better than the last big game he played in...the choke against NSP in the playoffs.
Also...it is a shame Arrogoni won't be playing. He has been the most entertaining player I have watched over the last couple of years.
