Thief River falls beat Totino Grace 6-2. What were the other scores in section 8a and A?

The game was really long. Totino was so cheap. They had about 9 penalties. I dont know who all scored besides Forney and Nordhagen.

there was 26 penalty minutes to tg in the second period alone, i dont care how cheap a team is, the impossible was made possible do to the 8A officiating, ridiculous. ON ANOTHER NOTE, 1-1 even strength play....

maybe these two teams will meet again at state!!

they lost 2 starting goalies 3 senior defense 5 senior forwards. dan amlone, dave norling, brian shack made the all tourney team. and 5 of the 6 goals trf scored were 5 on 3 or 6 on 3 and then they had 1 5 on 5. if 26 penalty minutes is correct then that would never happen at the tourney

TRF vs. Totino

Post by hcky4 » Sun Dec 04, 2005 11:58 am

I agree that 26 penalty minutes would never happen in the tourney let alone many 5 on 3's. I wonder how the officiating was because it looked as if TRF did not even have half the amount of penalties.

yeah blame it on the refs, they are suppose to call hooks and holds and slashes, its in the rule book. that crap has no appeal to the game of hockey, look at how much better pro hockey is to watch now that they rid the sport of the chinsy stuff. that comment about not seeing that many penalties in the tourny is probly one of the dummest thing ive ever seen, just because people can get away with murder at the state tourny doesnt make it right...
*WILD HOCKEY FAN FOREVER*

TRF/ Totino

Homer referees up North? - what a shock. You should no you aren't going to get a call up there. Sounds like they didn't even try to keep it even. Not surprised.

blaming the refs is the lamest excuse ive heard on this site yet . i havent heard much about TRF but im NOT shocked to hear the score of that game. Totino isn't a bad team but lost a lot of players. i dont think they will be as good of a team as they were last year. anyone have info or insight on TRF's team this year?

I didn't see it, but four 5 on 3 opportunites in one period for TRF which resulted in 3 goals? Not very common. TRF could be better but i bet it's a 2-1 or 3-2 game.

Wow, Listen to the comments here!

Just so you know, I have no interest in who won the game either!

One of my best friends was a official for the game, and well just a note, he is not from section 8.... another note.. He said that "one team played mostly within the rules of the game, and one team did not"... I would guess by looking at the box score you could figure that one out!

Ya know, just let the players play, officials officiate and accept the end result!

GEESH!

-The Slinger

TOTINO GRACE IS A GOOD TEAM AND THE SCORE PROBABLY COULD HAVE BEEN A 2-1 OR 3-1 GAME BUT THOSE CATHOLIC BOYS NEED TO GO BACK TO CATECHISM. OR THE TEAM IS GOING TO HAVE TO BRING THIER OWN PRIEST ALONG ON THE BUS FOR CONFESSIONS. BASICALLY THE TEAM NEEDS TO LEARN SOME DISCIPLINE AND KEEP THIER MOUTH SHUT WHEN A PENALTY IS CALLED AND THEN THEY WOULDN'T HAVE 2 IN THE SIN BIN. TRF HAD 10 POWER PLAYS AND TOTINO HAD 7 POWER PLAYS. THE REFS WERE CALLING INTERFERENCE PRETTY CLOSE WHICH IS THE NEW AGENDA.

BLAINE CAME OUT READY TO PLAY AND TRF WAS WATCHING THE GAME. 3 GOALS IN FIRST COUPLE OF MINUTES FOR BLAINE THEN THEY TRADED GOALS BACK AND FORTH BUT TRF WAS SLOW TO THE PUCK, ALONG WITH LESS THAN PERFECT PASSES AND CATCHES. SHOTS I BELIEVE WERE PRETTY CLOSE TO EVEN.

riverman. . . not to bark upon your parade. . but maybe GRACE should get the priest the football team had, ha. . .

But on a serious note your statistics are way off, if you'd like me to get the actual box score i could. . . oh and furthermore i find it quite outlandish that you could say the refs were calling interference close lol. GRACE had 10 penalties to 0 against Rosseau the next night, but for them thank god they had all that practice on the penalty kill the night before. Helping themselves not to get jobbed by the refs again. . . not an excuse, plain fact, TRF received an early christmas present.

WOW Roseau had ZERO penalties?!? You know something's wrong when the home team gets ZERO penalties. Hate to say it but something's in the water in the referee's locker rooms up north

You kno, i agree with you 100%. How does a team get zero penalties.. Its something with the refs. They want the northern teams to succeed. It is true that Roseau got zero penalties. There is no way a team can be exactly flawless. I wonder how many missed calls there was!

Post by bombhockey27 » Mon Dec 05, 2005 9:57 pm

back to the topic at hand. . . TRF isn't bad but they are definetly over rated. . . the first couple games of the season are always wishy washy, so we'll just have to see how it a plains out. . . on another note, has anyone heard of a double interference penalty?? well there was one on TG when they were on a penalty kil, lol, i know i've never heard of it. . . hahahahahahahahahahahaha

i did not go out and buy the paper but I listened to a number of radio reports and i have to assume they are close to correct. trf had 10 power plays and totino had 7 and many were for interference. those are the reports i have BUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT LETS JUST SAY THAT TOTINO GRACE WON THE GAME! IN FACT LETS SAY THEY WON LAST YEARS ALSO!!!

lets just say that totino sucks and move on, they are a bunch of cry baby sissy excuse making hackers and they will loose every game this year. Also I think we should say that section 8 is the best, and they will take state this year, once again, and they never ever break any rules, thats why they arent in the sin bin, duh...
*WILD HOCKEY FAN FOREVER*

Who cares if the refs were bad. If Totino is sooo good, they should have a pretty good penalty kill. Don't ya think? If they had a good PK then the refs calls wouldn't have really mattered anyways.
