Alex vs Moorhead

Post by hockeyplaya »

Saberman I think alex should keep it reasonably close with moorhead, but that will all depend on penalties. I was at the alex vs tech game and alex commited 15 penalties, and were in the box for 30 minutes of the 51 during the game, which really turned out to be the difference. During the 2nd period when it was even strength I thought alex was easily the better team. Thats why the shots for that game don't really mean much because if alex didn't commit so many dumb penalties I see them winning that game. But as for moorhead like I said if alex can stay out of foul trouble I think it might actually be a game for the first time in a few years between these 2 teams.

section 4

Post by oldschool »

I would have to be dead to not know that teams could opt up into aa, or to think that Greenway was forced or to not know that they had always opted into aa........
My point is, they went to what was natural. the two class system is designed to put like teams together, not necassarily talent. a teams as a whole are less deap as aa teams, is there maybe an underlying factor here, we all know that the Iron Range population ain't growing.
It is correct that the Fergus, Greenway game last year doesn't say much, I know, Greenway earned the tie, Fergus was up, Greenway came back, Fergus threw it away...................... ... . .. . . . . . . .
Wadena lost to Virginia and Eveleth, they were in both games, Fergus also threw it away at Eveleth, all of those games were in the Iron Range, says something for them. Says nothing for section 4. who else played a section 7 team????? oh yeah, Wadena probably played ELY,...........who else???? My point is, this year with the addition of Alexandria, the whole section is brought up. Now, instead of the two contenders of years ago, now there is perspectively 5 contenders it isn't a reflection of section 4 teams sinking to the level of the rest of section, it is a reflection of the surge that Wadena had been building for, and the team that finally broke through for Little Falls. Willmar was a nice addition, they have ups and downs, Fergus Falls has dominated the section through the years of "two contenders".............even when Fergus beat Wadena or little falls for the titles back then, I still only considered Detroit Lakes to be the only real threat. and lets be honest, when DL left, and no one else entered, Fergus was the only real team. Willmar had its first year horah, lost in the championship 5-1 to Fergus.
Fergus Falls opens tomarrow with Detroit Lakes. Early on I see that Little Falls and Fergus play, also Wadena, Fergus, and Little Falls, wadena. we'll see yet how Alex does against its "inferior" competition in section 4.

Where you at, Wadena guys???? got to hear about the wolverines............

I read it too, I think that eveleth is down, however, this also says something for Wadena, in past years, it wouldn't matter what kind of year eveleth was having...

It will be interesting to see how they fair against a good Virginia team tonight. What are everyone's thoughts on this game? If they do well we could be seeing a darkhorse in Wadena.

Wadena was outshot by Eveleth 48 - 17 last night. Goaltending appears to have played a major role in this one.

If Eveleth put 48 shots on 'em, Virginia could hit 60 this afternoon, and I doubt they will be held to two goals with that many shots or allow 6 goals on 17 shots. It's gonna take another marvelous goaltending effort and a bit of a flop on Virginia's part for Wadena to pull this one out.

I think it will be a pretty good game but i don't think LF will be able to score 5 goals on Alex. My guess is sumtin more like 3-2 with the two good goaltenders and the edge most likely going to Alex.

I'm taking LF over Alex tonight 4-2!!!! Little Falls has some young talent that nobody in Section 4a can match.

I'm thinking Alex will dominate the game and with the good goaltending it will still be a close game.
Shots 38-19 Alex

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey89 at: 12/6/05 11:04 pm

If you look at the time of his post you will realize that it was a prediction not the actual score of the game.
