Red Wing must be a 3 or 4 goal favorite, I would think.

I have to say red wing 6-2. Although Lourdes have a decent team, Red Wing is too deep with forwards, and better defensemen

I agree with untouchable. This will be a high scoring game for Red Wing. If lourdes stay out of the penalty box it could be a close game. My prediction is RW 6-1.

Lourdes is fast, Red Wing is strong.....RW must be playing close to the top of their game right now to be able to beat the teams they have. They could be due for a letdown and the game is in Roch.

Lourdes will need to get on the board early to win/stay in this one. They don't have the depth that RW has. Goaltending will be key. Lourdes will stay in the game if they have a hot goalie.

Who are the Lourdes speedsters?

Im going to have to take Red Wing in this one 6-2. The game will get out of reach for Lourdes in the third. Red Wing is to deep for Lourdes also I think they know this is a big section game and will come out ready to play like they have been doing in their early season games

Everyone says red Wing is going to smoke Lourdes. Lourdes tied these great Red Wing Wingers 2-2. Amundson had a sweet goal to beat the Red Wing Goalie. Owens had a sweet goal five hole. Great game Crowley. Sweet game, never been to a great game like this in a while.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... agles21 at: 12/8/05 10:36 pm

i would have to say that they game was way different then what i would have expected it to be. Red Wing was not playing as a team and was not working as hard as they could. It was a close game and i think that red wing wasnt playing to their highest ability.

Lourdes vs RW

Post by One Smooth Operator »

Sounds like the Lourdes goalie did a very good job and Lourdes did have a 2-1 lead going into the 3rd period. That is what they needed to do to keep this close.

They'll need to get their third line more experience from here on out to do some damage in the Sections.

Last night it sounds like Lourdes took the Wingers out of their game. You Winger fans need to give credit where credit is due not whine about your team didn't play up to it's ability, or didn't play well as a team. Or maybe Lourdes matched up well vs the Wingers.

As a matter of fact I'm not on the Lourdes team I went to Lourdes and now am in college but I was at the game and it sure looked to me that Lourdes had a great game against the "3rd" ranked Wingers.

yea lourdes played good, but red wing played like complete @#%$. i think the high rankings got to their heads. this was a totally different team on the ice. any other day i would still take red wing by at least 2 goals, no doubt.

the rankings definitely got to the guys' heads. red wing did not play to their full potential, or as a team for the most part. they're a great group of guys but there are too many separate egos that they need to sort out before better things come. i see them losing very few games this year. they did out shoot lourdes, but it was very winnable and no one (on either team) capitalized on the opportunity. every team has their ups and downs and this will probably not phase RW.

dangles and sehockey

keep making these comments about rw not playing up to their potential in this game. this is great posting material for the lourdes locker room next time they play.

tell us more about how the rankings got to their heads??? Rw was maybe in the top five on thursday and lourdes was around 10 so they/rw come into the game at lourdes home ice thinking this is a done deal?

Lourdes vs Red Wing

Post by puckjazz »

It was obviously a very even game, with both teams getting good chances to win in the 3rd and OT. Clearly it shows that Section 3 is going to be a very competative section with three legit teams having a chance, although again can't rule out Northfield.

Lourdes definately stepped up and played a tough, physical game. Mentally it was a good step for them to come back after previous games and tie- and very nearly beat a strong team in RW.

RW, playing at Lourdes, had a number of challenges to overcome as well. It would have been very easy to go in and lose this game against a tough opponant ready to play. I think RW was surprised by how physical RL played.

Both teams are going to have to figure out how to score 5 on 5 and stay out of the box. The officiating was marginal for both teams - to inconsistent, and too often the refs getting involved with ticky-tak stuff that should be called in a Bantam game, but let the guys play!

Well said PuckJazz, very good insight on this game.

Not sure Northfield will be as competitive as STA, RW and Lourdes. The last three play a pretty tough schedule to make them extremely ready for sections.

I'm surprised by Lourdes being more physical as well and they do need to be able to score against the best teams 5 on 5. RW has some very good players and lots of depth. This will help them as injuries occur. I like their style of play.
