C-E-C vs East

Post by 7aahockeyfan » Sun Dec 11, 2005 1:32 am

After Cloquet beating WBL 4-2 on friday and East losing to WBL on saturday 5-3 how do you think this game will end up?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeyfan at: 12/11/05 1:44 am

You have to throw all the scores out when this great rivalry happens. Both teams are solid this year and i think it will be an excellent game like always.

When you look at the scores it seems like CEC is stronger in net and I think that will be key. Also, that like with Mlodezeneic and Johnson is really good, does East really have a line to match them?

I think this game will be a big eye opener in 7AA
Cloquet 7
Duluth East 1

I didnt get a chance to see the east vs. WBL game but from what iv heard east looked pretty slow. WBL had an intense game the night before and they still came out and won.

i predict CEC 5 - East 1

Seems to me East may be down a bit from previous seasons. That being said now that CEC has Mlodyzniec back they seem to be getting some momentum. I think CEC is going to open the floodgates on this one. Just a hunch I have.

CEC....total domination in stats for game 1.
4 - 1 win.
Simply stated that CEC has the key players to press East this season especially in the early season, game 1 matchup. We will have to see how Randolph counters in game 2.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... @mnhs>Gray Mullet at: 12/12/05 4:39 pm

A win by the Greyhounds would not be an upset because
I believe Cloquet's record is 2-2. Beating White Bear Lake
who played their BACK-UP goalie doesn't give the Jacks the
edge.

East Versus Cloquet

Post by CanAm28 » Tue Dec 13, 2005 10:04 am

I'll go with East on this one and I don't think I'd be going too far out on a limb. If your comparison is based on what happened with WBL, here are some thoughts on this. I believe WBL was still reeling from their lose to Hill-Murray. I wtached that game on FSN and to be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with their preformance considering they were the #2 team in the state. So up to Cloquet they go. Didn't see the game, but hats off to Cloquet for the victory. I believe the Bears were still in a week long funk that ended during the 3rd period versus East. Most teams go through these spells, better to have it now versus February and March. East benefited from powerplays to be sure. Frankly I think WBL could bitch on three "calls/non-calls". East had their chances. Turnbull had three great chances and missed the net all three times. If he converts any one of those the outcome could have been different. Lies played well in nets making atleast two highlight saves. The Hounds PP moved the puck well, but I think the "D" could stand to shoot more to keep the killers honest.
Hounds versus Cloquet on Thursday? A classic in the making. East 4 Jacks 2.

I was at the wbl c-e-c game. that is the only time this year ive seen wbl play but from the sounds of things they played slow and did not play the top goalie. cloquet still played a great game. even with the 1st string goalie in, wbl would still have been outplayed. if cloquet can play the same against east it should be a sure win. c-e-c 3 east 2

cloquets for real

hawksfan70 is right, throw out the records of each team cause it does not matter when these two teams play. If you look at the past ten scores that Lee listed between these two teams you will see I believe 7 one goal games. I'm sure that will happen once again but I believe Cloquet will be winning this one 4-3. No O.T.

Where's the sniping, the petty insults, the disparaging of upbringing and heritage?? I had to go to another topic to find the first 'East sucks' post! You call this a rivalry, you guys are all too nice and mature. I guess we have to wait for the schools to let out to get the good stuff.

Seriously, this may be the best rivalry right now and the game really should be one that FSN televised. I have no idea who'll win, though it does look like East might be a little down this year.

hey GR19 quit using my "woodshed" moniker in games of utmost importance.
I actually believe that Cloquet is too much beast for east to handle and predict about a 3-1 or 4-1 win for the jacks.
