Virginia's Goalie

Post by ilovetowatch »

Isn't it interesting how both Hoche and Peterson played for not-so-good teams, transferred, and now they play for Virginia? Now that they have a solid team backing them up, they are able to show how good they can be.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... towatch at: 12/15/05 12:24 am

Why is it that posters have to start bashing right away?
Last year Hoche was relied on for half the game as they headed for State. Yet, he's dissed, he sucks, whatever. Peterson has had some good games, a shutout, a win over Grand Rapids and he sucks!? Both can not be fact! One is obviously ill-based opinion.
Wishes for much success to both of the VA Blue Devils tenders!

I find it comical that anyone can make some of these statements given the facts posted above:

Derek Peterson - 85 Saves / 92 Shots = .924 Saves Pct.

Yeah, that's pretty poor alright... especially considering the opponents in those games: Grand Rapids, Duluth Denfeld and Mound-Westonka.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... kRanger at: 12/15/05 12:49 pm

82 saves on 92 shots seems to be about 89% save percentage to me...i dont know.

_________________

BOB

Makes sense then...I was a bit confused. Both goalies need to work on controlling rebounds tho. I have seen that as their MAJOR flaw. Otherwise I think both goalies are very capable.

_________________

BOB

both are decent goalies and could play for any team around here

similar to last year with the Hoche and Sloth rotation

Its a bonus to have 2 good goalies on the team

Good luck to both, lots of hockey to be played

Goalie

Post by ilovetowatch »

My previous post was meant to be positive for both goalies. I'm not sure if it was taken negatively or not. I was just pointing out how Virginia has gotten some transfers lately who have turned out to be an asset to the team. Both goalies have performed well under pressure and hopefully continue to do so. Go Devils!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... towatch at: 12/15/05 4:58 pm

the comments are directed at statehockey and qwerty, especially the latter. Qwerty seems to love negative posting.
I've responded to qwerty before.
Yes, having the two tenders transfer in has been a positive for all involved. Kudos to Hendrickson, by the way, he is a great guy to have coaching your kid.

What about Stokes? why is he mentioned above?

i love getting these virginia fans all wild, its a comical site to witness...if you guys cant handle the heat, get off the ice otherwise you will be stuck with a puddle between your legs just like after your loss to denfeld....by the way, good job denfeld on a great win!

state hockey---------you are perverse, if this is what you do for kicks. Cutting kids down is soooooo immature. I say that regardless of the "team" they are on. So either go play somewhere else or grow-up. We don't need your comments on Virginia site or anywhere for that matter!

Good for the 2 Goalies currently playing. But if I was a young Virginia Goalie progressing in Youth Hockey I would be a bit concerned about more recruits coming in to play for Virginia.

I agree with that TwinPortsPuck, to the goalies that played throughout their childhood at Virginia it is not fair for themselves.
Also, I am quite sure both were not recruited and opted upon their own decision to leave their home town for greater success.
