Cheapest Team

Post by HockeyMan05 »

Has anyone noticed teams that have a habit of playing cheap all the time? Is there any "Goons" to look our for who are known to play overly aggressive and possibly be known for taking stupid peanlties. Maybe not necessary say the name of any "Goon" but the team he plays for.
Dont get me wrong, I love physical players, but there is a big difference between an physical player and a Goon.

Wackem, Hackum, Stackum. Sounds like the Elks and the rest of the teams in the NW "Circle of Intellengence".

Please let it go. Congrats to ER for beating Moorhead 8-1 and doing something Moorhead has never done. It was four years ago and yes 8-1 is embarassing, but Moorhead was never supposed to make it that far. Many people didn't think Moorhead would even make it out of there section that year. They had to win two ot games in state to make it that far. In 04 and 05 second place may have been a disappointment, but that year it was an accomplishment.

I have seen Elk River play twice and I don't really the Elks played cheap. My opinion, the cheapest team for the past 3 or 4 years has been the Giles led Edina.

Actually, I think the Elks looked real solid this weekend in the Edina Classic. I just could imagine playing for Sarlsland. for any current or former Elks - what is it like playing for him. I played for a coach back in the early 80's for a coach that was similar to Sarlsland, however, my former coach had 7 lawsuits filed against him in his 15 years for his player abuse.

puckhead63 I agree with your comment on "the cheapest team for the past 3 or 4 years has been the Giles led Edina."

Of all the teams I have seen play the past 4 years they top the list for playing cheap and he coaches it.

Elks in my opinion just play you fat out tough. I have not witnessed their clubs gooning it up.

GR19:
I didn't see Sarsland's reaction to the OT goal. I know from watching him in the past years, he usually, or at least it doesn't appear, to say a word. My guess is that the locker room and the following practices ma be a different story.

What I have really noticed in the past couple years is his assistant coaches are following in his footsteps with the "in-your-face" yelling style.
