Tell me about this section 206. All I can think of is 2003-Roseville kids at the Hill Murray/Holy Angels game. A whole section got kicked out of that one.

Yeah the Roseville fans started to shout "daddy's money" and some HM fans responded saying “trailer trash." The Roseville fans then got kicked out after more cheers at the HM crowd. The funny thing is in the Pioneer Press (maybe another paper) had an article about how well the HM students took the "abuse" from the Roseville fans. And they were given the sportsmanship award Then the next day a different paper responded with another article saying that HM was just as bad as the Roseville fans. Ever since section 206 has the reputation of ripping on all student sections.

Ok, that's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure before I made my comment about this notorious 206. I was at that Holy Angels/Hill Murray game in 2003 so I know exactly what you're talking about.

Personally I don't think starting fights and getting kicked out of a hockey game for using swear words really loud is what makes a good student section. I think section 206 belongs on East Lake Street, or perhaps in an alley behind a bar where it's more appropriate to fight, swear, and name call like that. There are children at these games, and for an entire crowd to seam to think they deserve a spot at the king's table for sounding like an Eazy E CD at a school event is just poor upbringing. I'm sure you kids had awesome energy the right idea. But you just went about it all the wrong way.

You don't have to be the nerd sections who do the "we have spirit how about you!?" chant, but stick to hockey and school related insults. Sieve, bash a goalie, or a star player, no pun intended. But leave your guns in the car.

I agree with you all the way, it was a shame and the actions taken by both sides was in bad taste. However, when you use the word "you," are you talking to me or just those kids in general? I was at the game, but I wasn't in the AHA or HM student section participating. And just to correct you, HM and AHA played in the championship in '02.

Oh yea, Anoka was 2003. Good call. Sloppy slippin in my pimpin. And I was referring to the thug mentality of the entire crowd in general. If it was all high school kids, or something to that effect, I wouldn't care at all. Like if it was a party or something that only the kids were attending. But honestly there are lots of little brothers and sisters, grandparents, parents. It was embarrassing for me as a high school kid, and I wasn't even near that section.

The Jefferson vs. Eastviews "go around" will be visited again when they play this Saturday in the friendly confines of B.I.G.

Last year the goalies mom got the whole student section removed because they were calling her little boy a sieve after he allowed 10 goals to go by him and his neck was sunburned from the red light going on behind him so many times.

Then on another occasion one of the Eastview players scored and decided to do a little celebrating in front of the Jags student section and had his stick taken out of his hand by the students. The ref was over there trying to get this big football player to give it back and he wouldn't so Connelly skated over there and the kid gave it to him and he gave it back to the player and told him not to celebrate in "our building"

I do not support tasteless chants regarding mothers and such, but I do like it when there is a "home field" atmosphere and if the top players cannot handle playing in these situations they should play chess or something else that doesn't have any fans attending.

I'm not jealous of AHA, i think they're a very good team and are almost every year. I just happen to not like private schools all that much.

personally, I love chanting against private schools because they are horrible at chanting back. They always do that stupid "jesus loves us" chants and its retarded and very very old.
The curse lives on.....

hey zamman how can u support a high school that recruits it takes the tradition out of all of high school hockey if every shcool recruited like that it might as well be college. If aha didnt recruit they wouold have a bunch of band PLEASE BAN ME and math nerds out on the ice because no body would come there for hockey if they werent recruited. now they ahve a reputation and every rich kid wants to go there and sit on the bench to earn a championship ring well anoka did it the right way in 2003 and schooled aha in the semis. thats how high school hockey should be if u ask me

Obviously you still need some schooling, look at you spelling and grammer.
Also I love newbies, they are so on top of everything. The whole recruiting thing is old and run down. How do you know that the players on the team are not band geeks or math nerds, I don't call them band PLEASE BAN ME because sexual preference has no place on this board. I happen to know that they have had players who were in the band, top notch students and class presidents. There is a standard for playing on the team and grades are one of those standards. I can cheer for them because I am one of them, and I never cheered "Jesus love us". I would bet that cheer was really started by someone else and the students from AHA just kept it.

Oh I forgot the Anoka game. Yes I have to agree we did get schooled. Anoka played a great game, getting early goals and then taking away the passing lanes and beating AHA in the neutral zone. I have said it here many times before that game was played perfect against AHA, Oh I forgot you are new to this board. I apologize....
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >Zamman at: 12/15/05 6:37 am

Jefferson always seems to have a good student section. Yeah, they go over the line sometimes, but they have a lot of enthusiasm. I swear I heard them chanting 'Boring' during the TV timeouts in last year's state tournament which I thought was pretty funny. From what I've seen this year, they're a bit more vocal than WBL's.

Elk River usually has a good student section, but they seem to have gotten tamer the last few years. Osseo's student section was louder than ER's at last year's section final.

War Chant

Post by boblee »

Brainerd at home is prett sweet, as benc14 said. All the students stand throughout the entire game. They do the war chant and even have the old Braves chop going. Pretty sweet stuff for da barnyard boyz.
