They're doing surgery on East. Yikes! What a scary team. AHA looks great in all phases.

Re: DE vs. AHA
Matson scores for the Stars to make it 2-0...this thing could be over very quickly here. Ben needs some help from his D.

(btw, two extra threads devoted to this game have already popped up. They were deleted. Just a guess, but I think one thread per game should be enough)

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey>east hockey at: 12/27/05 2:52 pm

Re: AHA
Wow Barribal is my vote for best player in the state. He is dominating! He drove to the net twice and absolutely burnt the D both times. East goalie is the only thing standing in the way of Barribal having a 5 goal game.

Re: AHA
Trachsel gives Bariball a gift and he makes it 3-0. Gotta play better than that in your own end, boys, I don't care how quick your opponent is.

This is going to be boring soon...unless your a AHA fan, of course.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005

East getting destroyed. Holy Angels is looking like they are playing down a league right now.

Barriball is something to watch. Mattson looks darn good as well.

Re: AHA
I agree with the announcers. I've seen Hill-Murray, White Bear Lake, Wayzata, Grand Rapids, Mooread, two Rochester clubs. All those teams are not close to the ricidulous skill and speed of Holy Angels. Holy Angels should be in the same league as SSM, not MSHSL.

AHA
I only caught the first 12 minutes or so of the first period, but if there is a weakness, it's goaltending.

Can anyone else back me up on that? This is the first I've seen of this team, but they are head and shoulders above any other team I've seen.

Re: AHA
Keaton Smith does seem to be a little shaky in the nets. But hey, AHA is up 3-0, at this rate it will be 9-0 if not more, and AHA seems to be a dominate team. They have to be excited for one of their first REAL games...Bad break for DE

3-1 AHA up,
DE just scored on a goal that could of been prevented...looks like keaton gave it a little help to cross the line.

who is broadcasting the game?

FSN North. Where have you been?

Re: DE vs. AHA
Apparently in my own little world and at work

Re: DE vs. AHA
Goaltending is clearly the only weakness of Holy Angels.

I am almost wondering if there are refs in these games today. These guys almost don't call any penalties. Including some real obvious ones. These refs look like they are asleep.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >Finn70 at: 12/27/05 3:46 pm

Re: DE vs. AHA
Watching the first period I would have said that there is no way AHA shouldn't win state but after watching more of the game I think that if they are unable to win it will be because of 2 things:

If Barribal can't score or create chances AHA will be hard pressed to win

There goalie is their weakest link they will need strong play game in and game out if AHA wants to stay undefeated and win both the holiday tournament and state.

Re: DE vs. AHA
I don't believe that Holy Angels is as dominate as the first period showed. Duluth East is definetly showing more this 2nd period. I know Holy Angels played a very impressive first period, but I think Duluth East came out very flat. There are definetly teams that can and will beat Holy Angels, I still believe Duluth East may pull this one out. First line for Holy Angels is by far the best line in the state from what I've seen, and I agree with the comment about the goaltending possibly being a weak spot. They aren't by any means unbeatable.
