Post by IntheCrease34 » Sat Dec 24, 2005 2:32 pm

As of right now who do you think is at the top of the Section 5A? out of the Blake, St. Louis Park, Breck, Tonino, Mahtomedi group??? Since Benidle is out could be a little different this year. Also who are some top players in 5A in you opinion?

I personally think St. Louis Park is playing the best right now, followed by Blake, then Mahtomdei. Totino is not that good this year , and Breck is not playing well right now.

i think mahtomedi has been proving themselves to be strong and a threat offensively once they start puttin the puck in the net.

im also thinking that blake again will be a decent team

I saw this team play and was not impressed at all. didn't seem like they had many players. I realize Blake and Breck aren't playing that well right now, but is mahtomedi really better than them?

St. Louis Park seems to be playin the best hockey at the moment. Breck, Blake, and Mahtomedi will make it interesting come playoff time.

5-0 over #2 Hibbing and beating a good Grand Rapids team on the road has them moving up in the polls. I still think its going to be a war come playoff time. I watched Totino dominate Duluth Denfeld who had only lost 1 game by outshooting them 36-6 over the first two periods.

I saw SLP play Totino just before Christmas. What a battle -- Park prevailed 2-1. Totino was toughest opponent SLP goalie Swartoff has faced (he was out against Mtka.) Totino outskated Park in first, but failed to get off quality shots-on-goal or score. Park controlled 2nd and scored twice getting higher quality chances and capitalizing. Totino missed a couple of good opportunities in 3rd but still forced one past Swartoff thru sheer willpower and pressure. Totino clearly outshot Park, but Park appeared to be simply burning the clock, which turned out to be a winning strategy. These are two excellent teams with top talent. They are finally getting the recognition in the polls that they deserve. It is possible these are the 2 best single-A teams in the state right now.

I think that its Swartout not Off but yes they are finally getting noticed which is nice because they have beat some very good teams.
Swartout 7-0, 3 shutouts, .71 GAA, .97 Save per

How bout that Sackrison though hes the real deal...
