Red Wing vs AHA

Post by rl3ao » Sat Dec 31, 2005 8:14 pm

RW will play AHA twice this season. Now, do they have a chance to keep this game close, or will AHA run them over like they will every other Missota team?

AHA

Red Wing doesn't have a chance. They might score a couple times, but AHA will dominate the ice. They'll be undefeated in the conference again this year.

AHA is a JUGGERNAUT!! RW has no chance...

JUGGERNAUT

n 1: a massive inexorable force that seems to crush everything in its way

AHA should win by three or four goals but RW will obviously be pumped up for these games. Like all hockey games, a hot goalie on either side can change a game totally.

a hot goalie

Post by mathrunner » Sun Jan 01, 2006 10:36 am

Sure a hot goalie helps, but that requires the puck to be in that zone, and against AHA, I have my money that it won't be.

My opinion is that AHA will win both games, but Red Wing will stay with them through two periods. When the STARS play in Red Wing the game will be different, a little tougher for the STARS but they will prevail.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

AHA will sweep the season series, but I think that Red Wing can give the Stars a run for their money, and by far their toughest test in Missota play.

mathrunner,

I'm sure you think that STA can beat AHA. Red Wing will be competitive in their game against AHA. They can be a very physical team and that type of team will match up well against a team like Holy Angels. A hot goalie for RW could make this very interesting particularly down in Red Wing.

STA? Huh?

Post by mathrunner » Mon Jan 02, 2006 12:49 pm

STA beating AHA? Where'd you pull that out of? I don't think anyone will beat AHA. STA is a good A school. AHA is the best AA school. I don't know what you're talking about. But since you brought it up. A team that almost loses to STA, pulls off a tie, has no chance against Red Wing. Sorry, that's gunna be one loss on their record buddy.

I meant no chance against AHA. I'm sure that was obvious, but thanks. Yeah, they have no chance against AHA.

I think I speak for almost everyone on this board (except AHA fans, of course) when I say I'd love to see Shakopee or Red Wing or New Prague or anyone pull off the upset this year.

There's a saying, "On any given day........"

But i can't see that day happening anytime soon.

why?

Post by mathrunner » Tue Jan 03, 2006 2:08 am

Is it just because AHA is private that everyone wants to see them lose? I always like seeing a good team do really well.

GAme in Red Wing

Post by One Smooth Operator » Tue Jan 03, 2006 10:12 am

When AHA comes to Red Wing, that will be a good game. If the Winger goalie is hot, it'll be a great game.

Teams want to knock off AHA cuz their good not because their a private school. Plus, eveyone knows many of their players transfer there because the hockey program is great.

aha Red Wing

Post by backhand44 » Wed Jan 04, 2006 5:55 pm

I will bet anyone, that AHA beats this team by 5 goals Red Wing is not a very good team. They have 2 forwards that are skilled Nolt, Dowden there d are brutal and goaltending is hot or cold. lets not kid ourselves AHA by 5 or more.

I play for Hutchinson and we have played both two teams. In my opinion Red wing was a much easier game. Red wing runs two lines for the most part and has one good line. They also like to hit alot. But, AHA has got the passing and skating to beat them. AHA should beat but it will still be a close game

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... telecky at: 1/4/06 6:27 pm

RW

Post by rl3ao » Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:00 pm

I have been to all of the Wingers home games this year, I will give a little assesment(sp?) in case you havent seen RW play (which you can on the 17th against Shakopee on FSN )

They are a physical team that plays good, often great defense. They like to hit and it does cost them a few extra interferance penaltys a game. However, they are great on the penalty kill only allowing 1 PP goal this season while score 4 or 5 shorthanded goal.

Basically, they play good d, and turn d into offense.

Personally, I think RW can stay with AHA thru the first 2 periods, but AHA pulls away in the 3rd to win 5-2.

BTW, this game is next Thursday, January 11th i beleive.

This is the best RW team IMO since the 1996-97 team.
