Shakopee

Post by Born2Play » Sun Jan 08, 2006 8:25 pm

Ok obviously anyone in the right mind knew that AHA could take Shakopee on any given day, AHA can pretty much take anyone on any given day... Shakopee did something that was a first for their program...hats off to them. Even with the teams that they did play, it is still good to go 10-0-1 in the first 11 games, you have to give them some credit. NP knew what they had to do and that was eliminate their top scorers and they did it, thats how they one the game. It might not of been the pretiest, but it got a few kids from Shako pissed off and it showed that they got some hot heads.

The last few years have had a lot of close games between these two teams. Everything has been one or two goals, and the play always seems to get physical. Three years ago the Shako goalie (not ole, but can't remember the other guys' name right now) came way out to play the puck and New Prague's Ambroz beat him to the puck. There was a collission and the goalie hurt his shoulder and missed a couple weeks of play. Last year in the sections, it was a tie game and almost exact kind of play happened and New Prague's goalie Sacco got flipped head over heels, landed on his helmet and got a concussion.

It's become a big rivalry. Interesting to see what happens when NP comes to Shakopee in a few weeks

Everyone is giving Shakopee some credit, but when it comes down to it you need to play your best at the end of the year. That is what Shakopee did last year and that seemed to carryover to this year. Now they have to regroup and accept the loss and move on. I hope that they give AHA a run in their games, it is much better for AHA to have to work for their wins. They know they are good and a fight is much better than a workout....
Way to go Shakopee....
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

The goalie from Shakopee that got ran by Ambroz was Kyle Ratalsky and since then they have became huge rivals.

Thanks...don't know why I couldn't remember his name.

I do remember the next year, at shakopee, Ratalsky came out of the net and beat ambroz to the puck in an almost identical play....almost same spot on the ice. No collision that time.

Zamman, It is agreeable that Holy Angels rocks, it just sucks that we always get smoked by them although it is fun playing them. I think that they are just gonna walk all over shakopee because of the coaching style, trying to play too much defense. 9-0 in favor of holy angels.
