It is a toss up between Chisholm and Ely, I have played on outdoor rinks that are better, and have better dressing rooms and concession stands.

worst rink

RLF has to be right up there. The ceiling is about 14ft from the ice surface. No seating to speak of. It looked like the visitors had to walk through the lobby to go to the bathrooms, and I can only wonder if they had showers. I thing I did like was the 3 bucks to get in.

How about Elk River. Newer rink that's plenty warm, but all of three rows of seating on one side and a cat walk for standers on the other. On eof my least favorite places to see a game...

What about the old Crookston rink, can't get much worse than that.

Elk River

Sparlimb, I hadn't been to Elk River before this year so I don't know if the facility is new, but it's one of the best arenas in the metro area. Seating on both sides, a rink level standing area and a raised standing area behind the goal and they even have a scoreboard that keeps track of the shots. It's a very nice facility on par with Braemer or Aldrich.

lacking Catholic Players would take the cake..

Any rink that lacked the Superiority of the Minnesota Catholic High School Hockey Player of course. That's a no brainer.

L<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /alien.gif ALT="0]"> E, SL<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> PSH<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> TER,

(...a legend in his <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> wn mind...)

rink

I'm going to go back a few years and I know that this rink no longer gets used but, the old Breck rink. There was a slope in the ice on the vistors side and how the blue lines didn't match with the players bench at all. I haven't seen the new rink yet but, it was well needed.

Sauk Rapids

Post by 2ahockeydude » Mon Jan 06, 2003 3:25 pm

Although the ice is nice, the barn where Sauk Rapids plays (Arena East, I think it's called) is terrible for the players. Dressing rooms/showers are, "ahem", sub-standard. (to be nice) And they don't turn on the heat for the fans, or if they do, they only do it for the home fans.....

Nasty.....

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Good One!

Good one on the old Breck rink! It was so musty and moist in there the beams overhead were all rusty. They also had a permanent cloud (fog) about 9 months out of the year. The new one is pretty nice--huge lobby and nice and bright on the ice.

Yep, the old Breck rink is the worst actual arena I've ever played in. I also played at some sort of dome in Shakopee, but I don't really think that counts.

As for the fog at the old Breck rink, I had about 5 games in my life that actually had to be cancelled because they were on the EP main rink and you couldn't see from one end to the other.

Apple Valley Arena has the personality of a cardboard box. What is with the color scheme?

Nymore Arena in Bemidji! It should have been burned to the ground years ago.
