Sartell vs Proctor

Post by The hockeywriter » Thu Feb 20, 2003 12:42 am

Well this one will be going on over @ National Hockey Center it will be between the Proctor Rails (9-16-0) vs Sartell Sabers (11-12-0) Should be a good game. Again I will break it down By Postion.

Goaltending: Sartell In the nets will be Junior Chris Legatt real good goaltender has gotten alot better as the year has gone on he can keep Sartell in it but his one weakness gives off huge rebounds get good shots from the point crash the net and you will get a few goals. But he has gotten alot better.
Proctor Beau Davidson will take the nets for the Rails with I hear Quaile being done for the year. This kid is very small in size and I dont understand why but he loves to go down come in and shoot high and you will score with ease look at what he has done the last 3 games of the regular season giving up 7, 11 and 10 goals wow not good numbers heading into playoffs. But it is a new season but in order for the Rails to pull the upset he will need to be big time in the nets.

Defense: Sartell the leader of the blueline for the sabers is only a freshmen but dont let that fool you Micheal Sauer is a real solid player he plays like a senior at times he has alot of skill got a real nice shot as well. Other good players on the blueline for sartell are Charlie Binsfield and Senior Ryan Fitzthum. They are very young on the blueline but they play like they are alot older.
Proctor the leading man on the Rails is Senior Travis Olson big kid hits really hard and has a big shot but he does lack footspeed which espically against Sartell on the big ice sheet will hurt them. Another really good player is Tony Scherber only a Sophmore but he plays with alot of poise he brings the speed to the Raild D unit. They are going to need to hit sartell hard and slow them up or they will get lit up.

Forwards: Sartell the big time player here is Bruss I know I say him all the time but he just really impresses me out there very smart good speed and a really nice shot. I just really like him as a player He seems to be there leader out there and he is only a junior. Other good forwards for the Sabers are Jon Stoebe and AJ Hedstrom make up a really nice first line. One thing all the Sartell forwards have is Speed and that will be huge vs Proctor.
Proctor The Rails are lead up front by there 2 big time seniors in Matt Talarico and Ryan Walsh both real good players play a real good style of tough nose northern hockey they could be a huge factor in the game it will be intresting to see how the young Sartell D deal with this to big tough Rails Seniors. Other good forwards for the Rails are Jake Comnick and David Koivisto. This is a solid group up front they forcheck hard and hit hard.

My Prediction: I think Sartell's speed will be to much for the Rails. But I could see the Forwards of proctor maybe coming out and shocking Sartell by how strong they are and they have more experince they were in this same situation last year they have been here before they believe they can pull the upset. My score Sartell 6 Proctor 2 Weak goaltening and all the speed you have to favor Sartell in this one.

Again guys trying my best here I hope you like these.

Princeton vs Moose Lake

Post by The hockeywriter » Thu Feb 20, 2003 1:18 am

Well the only game not going in the St.Cloud area tommrow night will be over in Princeton were it will a game between Moose Lake (12-9-0) vs Princeton (18-7-0) I think it will be alot closer then people think and could be the big upset of the night maybe????? Again i will break the teams by postion.

Goaltending: Moose Lake Jake Danelski the senior this is a very underated good goalie who could lead the rebels to the big upset. he will need to play an almost perfect game whcih I think he can do. If Princeton cant get few early and get down by 1 or 2 I think he can hold the lead. He has been solid all year I dont think it will be any different tommrow night.
Princeton It looks like there going to go with Jared Culver the rest of the way he is a decent gaolie makes alot of nice saves but it seems he always gives up a weak one here and there he will need to be on tommrow night I think he will determine rather the Tigers go anywhere this year. He can be very solid but we shall see.

Defense: Moose Lake They are lead back there by junior Jeff Klavu a decent D he does some nice things at times other times he makes you scratch your head and go what was he thinking. But if he is on he is a real solid player. Other good players are seniors Adam Johnson and Derek Haugen they make up a at times shaky Blueline but I think they will be on there game tommrow night.
Princeton the best defensive unit in this section is lead by Karl Larsen this kids got the total package wow he hits has great hands sees the ice so well gots nice speed and a real nice shot. It also helps he has Derrick Brown with him who is a real good player along with Charlie Ross and Kyle Jorgenson all 4 make up a real solid D unit. These guys are going to be the reason the Tigers make a run at if they do they are the key to this whole team.

Forwards: Moose Lake they are lead by there Junior standout Nick Knezevich he has been reall good all year and has put up nice nunbers with 35 points this year and looking at there stats he was either shut down by Princeton or didnt play . He is the big differnce maker for the Rebels he makes everything go for this team without him this offense is not the same without him. Other good forwards for the Rebels are Aaron Borchardt and Mike Haglund the real threat for the Rebels is Knezevich shut him down and you are on your way to a victory.
Princeton This offensive attack that averages 5 goals a game is lead by there 2 senior standouts Joey Bacon and Kevin Englund. Bacon can really fly out there has a ton of skill he has that scorers touch and Englund has the grit and the heart of a champion he owns the corners I have never seen a player like him before they both are so hard to stop when they are clicking they can give teams and goalie nightmares. Other good Forwards for the Tigers are Travis Schneider, Brandon Pangerl and I got to mention the big guy Cass Bowen. This is a real nice offensive attack it will be hard to stop them.

My Prediction: It should be all Princeton and I would say that but I think since they just got done killing the Rebels it will be hard to get up for this game and if they come out flat and the Rebels get a couple flukes and Danelski gets hot it could be a huge Rebel Upset I could see it happening. But in all reality My score is Princeton 5 Moose Lake 1 I think Princeton just has to good of D and too much talent up front to loss. I think the Tigers win here but I think it will be closer and tougher then most think.

Well there you have it guys it was a plaesure doing the scouting reports I really hope you enjoy them Please give me some feedback on what I need to work on or what you liekd before the next ones. Well tommrow night we go from 8 to 4 the real teams step up and play it should be fun and this Section has a history of Upsets could it happena again I dont know it should be fun to watch.

Well, in a couple of hours the kids'll be on the ice and we'll know who the final four are... But I do want to say that the scouting reports have been VERY well done, and I appreciate the effort that goes into these.

Who's it gonna be??????

I still say any of the top five.... as long as everybody plays their "A" games...

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Pretty good game. The tigers were fired up for their last home game. They came out flying. Brandon Pangeral, and Charlie Ross each got a pair of goals, with Karl Larson, Joey Bacon, and Adam Miron each chiming in with one. Despite the score I think Moose's goalie Danelski played a pretty good game. Shots were 48-10, him stopping 41.

It looks like It will be Princeton and Proctor in the Semis.
Does anyone have the SCC Mora score to see who Sauk plays??
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

OK, NOW it gets interesting. Especially if it's true that Proctor beat Sartell... didn't see that one coming...

Princeton v. I really dont think we will underestimate them. They have some talent, and when we played them earlier this year they out played us the first two periods if I remember correctly. If I remember our goaltending kept us in until we started playing the third period. We won 7-3.3

Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Section 2A Playoff Games

Post by The hockeywriter » Fri Feb 21, 2003 1:17 am

Well what a night I think I got to see the best game of the night and the one between SCC vs Mora what a game. Also Looks like we got our big upset with Proctor over Sartell. And Princeton made a big statement with a big 7-0 win over Moose Lake. And the Storm played solid and got a nice 4-0. Now for the reports on the game.

SCC 2 Mora 1
What a game it was back and forth the whole game and yes both goalies played really well tonight. The first period the action was intense with both teams getting there share of chances but neither able to get on by the hot goalies. Then came the second and more of the same But mora took a penalty and SCC took advantage on a nice goal by Eric Dahl it was set up nice by Crandell and Schmidt. That put the Crusaders up 1-0 but then the rest of the period the Mustangs really took it to the Crusaders but could not get anything past Rindelaub he was really solid tonight made big save after big save. But Hjelle was just as good both goalies played great games you hated to see one of them have to lose. But right away in the Third Crandell put in a goal on a nice assist by Dahl this put the Crusaders up 2-0. And again the Mustangs came back strong and it was the Mustang third line yes the third line that got the goal it was scored by Andy Greski assisted by Peterson. That made it 2-1 with about 10 minutes left in the game the rest of the game was real fun to watch so many chances for both team both taking risks. But in the end Rindelaub held strong and the Crusaders came away with the Big Win. They will move on to play another day.

My 3 Stars Of The Game
1.) Joel Rindelaub (SCC) 30 saves tonight huge game for him.
2.) Matt Crandell (SCC) 2 points tonight played a big time game.
3.) Nick Hjelle (Mora) 25 saves played real well to bad he came up on the short end.

My Thoughts on the Game: Well it was everything you could ask for great game when looking at the Mustangs season you have to say wow think how good they could have been I mean they were strong all year with always had like half there team think if they could have all got together well still Mustangs great effort tonight you played a real good game. As for SCC big win now up is the Storm you get them on your home ice You need to stop Peckskamp If you can do that and get another solid performance in the nets I think you got a real nice shot at knocking off the Storm.

Sauk Rapids 4 Duluth Denfeld 0
SAUK RAPIDS ‹ Sophomore forward Peter Abel scored a pair of goals as No. 1 seed Sauk Rapids blanked No. 8 seed Duluth Denfeld in the Section 2A quarterfinals at Sports Arena East.Storm senior goaltender Joe Dagenais recorded his third shut-out of the season and the 10th of his prep career.

Duluth Denfeld 0 0 0 ‹ 0

Sauk Rapids 1 2 1 ‹ 4

First period: 1. Shots were 48-10, him stopping 41.(thanks p-town tigers) Big win for Princeton were the only big winners tonight.

My thoughts on the FINAL 4: Well we are down to 4 now Sauk Rapids vs SCC and Proctor vs Princeton. Should both be real good games shoudl be fun to see I will have scouting reports ready by tommrow. Well now 5 teams are done and as Sartell proved tonight if your not ready to play your gonna get beat. Well cant wait till saturday!!!!!

See all you boys at the MAC!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... writer>The hockeywriter at: 2/22/03 12:41:15 am

Mora vs. SCC

I also went to that game. It was a fun game like the hockey writer said and both goalies were huge, but Hjelle stacked the pads once and stopped a shot going for the upper right with a kick save, it was the best save I have ever seen in high school hockey. Mora seemed pretty tired to me. They ran three defense and Akkerman probably got 40 minutes of ice time. I disagree with the hockey writer with the goal for mora. Andy Gretsky scored it from the slot on SCC's goalie lower stickhand side. It was an interesting game, I wish Mora would have won.

I believe this game will be a big game for sauk. I think that Cathedral will hook and grab and take many penalties trying to stop Peckscamp. This will not work. I think the score will be 4-1 sauk rapids.

well, they should be some interesting matchups. I was at the Scc- Mora game and that was really close. If St cloud's goalie keeps playing like that they might have a chance .
Like everyone, i was surprised to see sartell go down so early. It looks like proctor isn't ready to cash it in yet.

Proctor- Princeton

Proctor pulled off one victory can they get two? The answer is no. I don't think the game between Proctor and Princeton will be that close, but it depends on the Tigers getting over confident or not. Priceton 5 - 1

Sauk and SCC, before Sauk's injuries, I would have agreed, but I just don't know if Sauk can keep Pekscamp out there enough to make a difference. This could be a defensive battle more than an offensive one. If Sauk doesn't win big, and if it's close I predict SCC..

OK boys, drop the puck and let's take 'er down to the final two....
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Section 2A Semi-Finals

Post by The hockeywriter » Sat Feb 22, 2003 1:20 am

Well we are down to 4 and it should be 2 close games tommrow I think it is whoever showes up ready to play will win. It should be fun you have seen my reports on all the teams so I am just going to do my Prediction for both games.

Alright the first game of the day will be between the Sauk Rapids Storm (14-11-1) vs St.Cloud Cathedral Crusaders (16-7-1) This should be a really good game it is going to come down to a team with alot of depth in SCC and a team with 3 big guns in Sauk Rapids I think if SCC can find a way to shut down Peckskamp they will win but doing that is going to be a really tough task. Also I will like to see how both goalies perform in this game I think Deganais has been solid all year and will continue that trend but can the Rindelaub repeat his performance from Thursday. All thses things make for a really good game. It should be fun to see I have been a big non-supporter of SCC all year long but I do have to give credit where credit is due and yes boys you got a nice squad and I wish you good lukc. On Sauk I have a ton of respect for you boys you are doing this with 3 guys I mean wowo you are real solid club good luck to you as well. Well I a excited to see what happens.
My Final Score: Sauk Rapids 3 SCC 1 I thin Pesckamp will be to much and Dagnenis will be big in the nets.

The second game of the day should be a real good one as well as it features the Princeton Tigers (19-7-0) vs Proctor Rails (10-16-0) should be a fun one. The defending champ vs the cinderilla story. Now everyone on here is say Princeton big I am here to say it will go down to the wire I think Proctor will give the tigers all they want and a little more. My big points are can the Goaltending of Princeton stand up I mean They will get tested this game it should be intresting. For Proctor can they keep a nice speed and slow the game down to there speed cause if they let Pricneton skate wild the game will get ugly fast. Na dwill the little guy in the nets from Proctor have another big game he will need to cause he will eb tested it should be fun to see how these teams do. To The Proctor team you show alot by going down to Sartell and wiunning I think you will pull an upset tommrow night and will be playing in the section finals so good luck men. To Princeton I have went against you before and you have proven me wrong can you do it again prove to me your a big time team with your play tommrow I wish the Tigers the best of luck to.
My Final Score: Proctor 7 Princeton 5 I just think the Tigers might be looking past the Rails and I think the Rails will get up huge early on and just hang on for the win.

Well this should be fun tommrow 4 real good teams doing battle I mean this is your season boys you take a period off or now with all these temas beinbg so equal a shift off you will be doing going gall what could have been well boys come ready to play. I wish all 4 the best of luck and we will be down to 2 before we know it so have fun tommorw men!!!! Also for you hockey nuts I think later on in the evening Alex vs Tech will eb going on if so i will be there i suggest you all come watch to That will be a great AA Semi game. Well i will have reports on the games tommrow night. And everyone go out and work hard and have fun.

Proctor vs. Princeton

Post by ptown tigers » Sat Feb 22, 2003 2:18 am

I have got to disagree with you. Usually you are a right on the nose, but I dont understand how you can say we will be overconfident. We learned our lesson once this season(Cambridge). It will not happen again. Princeton is ready to go. Proctor played us real tough last time, our goalie saved us last time against proctor. They outplayed us two periods. We outplayed them the third but luckily our goalie held tough the entire game.I dont think anyone from Princeton has been cocky or over confident all season(well maybe playing Becker). I think it is going to be a great game, very tough and I think it will be close, but I just dont see Proctor winning it.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Nad who started against Proctor the the first time ???? Pleae answer these for me I would really like the answers Bvut yes if they are ready to go and not over looking them they beat up the Rails but we shall see. I am not quite sure who started against us, It may have been their backup cause I have heard their starter has back problems. Is he playing again? As for us unless Culver gets hurt they are sticking with him for the remainder of the playoffs.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Well ok hopfully Culver can do as good as Osmundson he really was on fire there and then thye just went to Culver what happened did Osmundsen get in trouble why he loss the starting job??? just a question But ohh yes well I work hard on the teams and I like to mention as many kids as I can but I like the big boy Bowen the reason for Princetons latest surge here is cause of that all senior line they have been huge but yes Tell them good luck you guys got a real nice squad I am actually hoping you win cause if you do the Final satys at the MAC and doesnt go to Cloquet which would save me alot of gas money. But I am really wondering on what happened in the nets for you tigers???

I believe it was because He had a bad game against Chisago, and then the next game Culver had a good game. It is really tough to tell who is better though. They are both pretty equal if you ask me.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....
