changes
Don't know the exact years, but 12 min periods were still used into the mid 60's. 15 minute periods came before 1970. There also was only 3/4 ice checking, meaning forwards could not crash an opposing player in the attacking zone. This created defense who had time to pick up their head and move the puck rather than hastily move the puck inorder to get ready for the check. Definitely caused problems for forwards. Also, defense could not pinch in and attack a forward breaking out. Defense had to wait 'til forwards crossed their blueline to throw the check. Still very physical game, but eliminated the running from behind one sees now days.

Re: changes
I dont think that the 2 line pass ever existed at the high school level. I dont remeber it any way. I do remember blue line icing and no checking in the offensive zone. I dont remember the exact dates when they changed but it sure upgraded the game.
