brrrrrrr

I would have to say Minnehaha Academy's rink. Last year I had a gatorade pretty much frozen solid that was in my bag in the locker room. It is even more cold on the rink, definantly the coldest place i had played in my 15 years of playing.

cold

The coldest rink i've ever played at would have to be in Vally City, ND. I know its not in MN but that one just has to be mentioned. For the Minnesota side i would also have to say Red Lake Falls arena is the coldest.

Outdoors!

Somewhat related to the topic -
<a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/s ...
What a sweet idea for the NHL to take this on. For those of us who remember ONLY being on outdoor ice, it brings back great memories. I don't remember the heated benches and artificial ice, tho! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Would be great if the NHL tried it in Minnesota next. Hard to think of an outdoor stadium with enough seating in this part of the country anymore.

The Proctor Arena is the coldest rink ive ever skated on, and I have skated almost everywhere in MN, and even rinks in WI, CO, ND, and Canada

p.s. The Proctor rink though did have the nicest and hardest ice i've ever been on

yeah <Linden16>,
i have played in both rinks, and it is sooo cold in both of them, but Oscar is colder then Biff. i would rather play at a cold rink then a hot rink. better ice

Hasn't anyone been to East Bethel Ice Arena where St.Francis plays??? Spectacting is miserable and playing is torture...your sweat freezes...not to mention the place is a complete dump! Well...except the mens varisty locker room...its actually one of the nicer that ive seen.

Coldest Rinks

Post by RinkRat10506 » Mon Dec 01, 2003 11:12 am

I think the old Cloquet rink, was cold and wet, and it did have horrible seating. I liked it though so close to all the action, havent been there in a long time.

The rink in Moose Lake was bad, I'm not sure if they have gotten a new one, but basically they just had a big tin shed over a rink. The floors were dirt and they had metal bleachers.

Cloquet

Post by icecold75 » Thu Dec 04, 2003 7:57 pm

The old barn in Cloquet is absolutely freeeezing! I remember working a tournament one year checking passes in the barn, I'm surprised I didn't get frostbite as soon as I walked in there!!!!

You don't know cold until you've been in the Hallock arena! you can scrape the frost off of the plexiglass and the walls!! It is unbelieveably cold. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">
