sorry bout the last accidental post. I live in Austin and played with Luke. Tonight we had a "Mr. Austin" show at our high school and they had a surprise guest. Luke. It was great to see him out of the hospital for a little bit and back in his school with all of his friends. He is still forced to rely on a wheelchair, but he is progressing well. From what his mom said at our banquet it will take up to november for the swelling to go down, until then we wont know for sure how he will recover (however we all know he will be 100% again <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> ) It was great to see him on stage tonight to hand out the crown, hopefully he wlil be back on his feet soon. God Bless #12, hopes and prayers.

by the way,
Luke Green 2004-2005 Big 9 All Conference Honorable Mention

I was at a function with a large group of people, among them was a couple from Austin, we started talking about Luke and a player from northern Mn knew all about the accident and was interested in how he was doing. The hockey community is great at times and this was one of them. Players being concerned.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /tired.gif ALT="|I">

Kathy Green has graciously allowed me to share this note of Luke's progress and plans with the message board. Keep the well wishes coming as they are no doubt an additional source of strength for Luke's family and friends.

Hi Mitch,

I am Luke Green's mom. Thank you for providing a resource for high school hockey. It has proved to be a great communication source for us. Luke is looking at attending the College of St. Scholastica. So hopefully he will be in Duluth this fall. The support from accross the state has been incredible. He is making progress each and every day. It is almost like a constant Christmas as his mobility and sensations unfold. We still have a long way to go, but we are filled with hope and prayers.

Kathy Green, Austin, MN

He will. Naturally or supernaturally. This may sound a little farfetched, but with the pope's passing, we may be in store for a miracle.

That's great news! Below is a link to the same storie Puckguy posted. It has a picture of Luke with one of the therapists

www.startribune.com

For those of you that don't receive the local news in the Twin Cities WCCO had Luke as their lead story on Friday evening. The video is on www.wcco.com. It shows Luke walking, with assistance from his brother and therapist, across the stage to receive his diploma. No doubt an emotional moment for the Green family. Also KSTP had a story on him Thursday evening. That video is at www.kstp.com

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... lcons30 at: 6/4/05 8:48 am

It appears that some of the messages in this topic were lost due to the EZBoard problems earlier this summer. Hopefully, Luke and family saw them all before they disappeared.

In any case, it can't hurt to write again to let Luke and family know that there are a lot of people in the hockey community pulling for them and following Luke's progress.

There are certainly many challenges ahead physically and even normal college trials but it seems obvious that Luke will persevere and will no doubt be a source of inspiration for many.

Good Luck at College Luke!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... wker>Mitch Hawker at: 8/29/05 9:34 pm
