Funny Fact: Star / Tribune had this in the paper about the WILD to this point on scoring.
“How about this peculiar trend? Before Wednesday, the Wild had scored 38 goals and given up 38 in the first period, scored 50 goals and given up 50 in the second period and scored 35 goals and given up 35 in the third period.”

Wild come out of the All-Star Break looking good, taking down the defending Cup Champs by the score of 5-1 led by four goals in the second period. Rolston, Gaborik, Koivu, Bouchard, and Sheppard scored for Minnesota in the win.Stealth wrote:We have the Duckieeeez in town, rebuilt to last year’s specs. Let’s take them down!!!![

Worthless Stat
If you have been itching to make a bet with a friend about shorthanded goals being scored, this is the time to do it. Only three teams in the NHL have allowed more than seven shorthanded goals this season, and two of them are playing tonight. The Wild has allowed nine, while the Islanders and Carolina have allowed
