OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled defenceman Brian Lee from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
This is the first career recall for Lee, who has recorded three goals, 22 assists and 51 penalty minutes in 55 games in his first professional season with Binghamton (AHL). Lee returned to action in the Senators 7-4 win over the Rochester Americans on Saturday, March 22, after missing 16 games with an ankle injury. The defenceman represented PlanetUSA at the 2008 AHL all-star game, held in Binghamton on Jan. 27.
Lee, 20, spent the last two seasons playing with with the University of North Dakota, where he recorded six goals and 47 assists for 53 points in 82 career games. The 6’2”, 205-pound defenceman represented the United States for three consecutive season at the World Junior Championship from 2005 to 2007.
A native of Moorehead, Minn., Lee was Ottawa’s first-round pick, ninth overall, in the 2005 NHL entry draft.
