wild draft

Post by hkymomx5 » Sat Jun 21, 2008 10:39 pm

i for one am sick and tierd of the old school mantality in the wild front office. i wish i had the money to buy the team and fire the whole lot. its the same crap in every draft!!!! besides burns they havent made a good choice in this organization. so we got another defensman in the first round just like the 15 we already have another prototype player.

I don't understand why we traded up to get him. I doubt NJ would have taken him and giving up a 3rd round choice to move up 1 spot seems ridiculous especially in the 20's. Ottawa moved up from 18 to 15 with the same type of offer.

I would have to think that the Devils were being courted by a number of teams for their pick, and Cuma was the reason for the trade talks w/ other teams as well. Wild were worried they would lose him if they did not move up...

It sounds like this kid is a leader, along w/ a very good skill set, and call it what you wnat, but Detroit built their squad around a solid Dman core and added the offensive pieces from there. I would be happy w/ a Detroit model to build from at this point.
