Wild77,

Have to agree with KC on this one. Maybe the reason AHA has been successful in all of these areas, including academics by the way, is they have a successful formula for doing things over there.

They rely on personal responsibility and personal choice. They recognize success when someone or some team achieves it. They are not into "sameness" or "fairness", two code words for Socialism.

I also think AHA supporters are sick of being a target for all of the public shoolers who blame them and every other private school for "stealing" their student athletes. Regardless of their name local Youth Hockey Associations are private entities whose charter it is to provide a beneful experience for their members, and not to matriculate their members to this high school or that high school.

Where a kid wants to attend high school is a completely independent decision. If a public high school hockey program wants kids from their local association to attend their high school, they better have a competitive program or the better kids from those programs will go elswhere, both public and private.

Kodiak and crew:

Yes you bite everytime! You are incapable of discussing Holy Angels without leaving the reader in a state of regret at your audaciousness. Gracious humility is maturity and its rightful heir. Don't say things like " the schedule isn't the boys fault." oh please.

Greet the barbs as attention directed at the state champs. Nothing more. Attention and interest are good things.

And by the way, Holy Angels does not keep the toughest non-conference schedule in the state. Far from it. Last year the team's five non-conference scheduled contests included 2 games with wussy out-east teams that you beat 8-1, a game with the Bears that you tied, a game with a hohum Shattuck team that beat you and you beat a weak 2005 Hill Murray squad. Besides the game you scheduled with WB Bears, you didn't play one of the other top ten teams in the state; Centennial,Moorhead, Jefferson,Duluth E, Roseville,Wayzata,Eden Prairie, or Osseo. Yes you did meet some of them on the road to the state tournament, but geez, thanks to your weak conference and section it must be nice each year. By the time most teams get that far in the season they are beat up. Save the chest pounding for scouts and coaches who are not wise to your shaded ease.

I didnt say that AHA played the toughest non conference schedule, i said they play one of the toughest non conference schedules in the state. and to prove you wrong once again, they did play centennial, wayzata, and ep during the regular season losing to centennial and beating wayzata 6-1 and ep 6-2. On second thought i guess playing elk river, wbl, centennial, hill murray, shattuck, ep, wayzata, minnetonka, and two powers out east is a really easy schedule.

AHA STATE CHAMPIONS 2002, 2005... Hash try not to respond "...And to prove you wrong again." Those are the words of a frustrated personality-- a type of person who wants to stick things in other people's faces. Carry yourself at a higher level.

These little exchanges are training for you and the HA posters. You are a fan of the Minnesota State Hockey champs. Act with gracious humility, pose, and wish all solicitors good luck. Retort with positives after you graciously review your competitors comments.

So how many non conference games did Holy Angels schedule last year?

I agree with most everything you say and am not arguing against AHA's academic or athletic prowess. It is obvious they have "figured out" the principles for success. And I am not arguing my opinion on the Public vs Private or the recruiting debate. Perhaps you are correct that AHA supporters are sick of being the target of public school supporters that blame them for stealing their student athletes. Coming from a Catholic school I thought instead of an "eye for an eye" they might "turn the other cheek". Maybe I was thinking it was a Lutheran school.

ONMHockey

none of the AHA supporters are trying to stick anything in your face. They are simply defending themselves. I know KC will back me on this one. The AHA supporters never talk bad or make bad opinions on other players/teams; they just state the facts. Maybe you should go back and read some of the posts above yours.

Ok, so you brought me back online. the schedule that AHA has is determined by two factors: one is the conference that they play in. One sport all sports. and the other by Trebil, he trys to get the best teams on his non-conference schedule. Anyone else see the non-conference games last year by AHA, I did. SSM is one of the best prep schools in the country and AHA was the only MN High School to get even close to them. Wayzata, and EP have been top ten teams for a couple of years and they handled them with ease.
Next the team is not physical, look again, they will be just as physical as the next team and they have one more ability that teams have trouble with. SPEED, SPEED, SPEED.....
I can take anything you can dish out, and I am sure that HASH and KodiakChew will back me up.

Time will tell......

________________________________
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Zamman, you are absolutely right. AHA has some of the best SPEED in the state. In my opinion, this played a large factor in the teams success last season. If they can keep that up like I think they can, they will be another fun team to follow this season.

AHA defensemen

Post by hockeyhair2 »

Looking at USHL's tricities team, which is where Brian Connley is at, Camaron Cooper is listed at the camp and on the 25 man protective team list. He is also listed on the Elite team roster. Does this mean he is just seeing what it is like, playing before and after or is he going to be staying?

I heard from a reliable source that Cooper is playing a before and after with Tri-City. I know that this can be tough, but if you stick with it, it can also pay off. You get to see what the next level is like but you also get to play high school hockey. Best of both worlds, so to speak.
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

As the KodiakChew stated from a reliable source. Coop is playing the brefore and after series with Tri-Cities, he was not going to miss his Senior year for anything.

________________________________
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

ONMHockey- That was a very inspiritational talk you gave all of us AHA supporters. Youre right, we should act "graciously" and "virtuously" and whatever the heck else, but in all reality, you and a lot of other people on this site let *poop* spew from kid's mouths who have nothing to do with AHA hockey and everything to do with making themselves look like ignorant whiners while complaining about AHA hockey.
Wild77- You dont need to give us a break, just let us have a giggle once in a while, it gets tough upholding such a humble demeanor.

Wow you are an angry defender and not at all the type of communicator appreciated on this forum. Get a new interest where solid hockey enthusaists won't ever have to read your attitude again. I may have an attitude at times but I have been around here a lot longer than you have and have seen double standard that AHA fans are shown. To come on here and tell us that we are acting poorly and should clean up our act is a slap in the face when you compare our fan support to other schools on this board. Thanks for the good luck, we appreciate it but I hope we wont need it.

starsalum

Pl review your verbage before posting it. Read it through perhaps ten minutes later and adjust your sense and attitude so your post comes off in the best tone possible.

Just because you have posted more times than myself how does that allow for your dragdown attitude? If any thing your earned experience should bolster a resolve for increased maturity. And asking AHA supporters not to drop down and gravel at the level of this forum's occassional mindless criticizers has no connection whatever to the size of your fan base.

The Stars are going to need alot of luck this year. ONM i am probably the worst aha angry defender on here and do you know why??? because I can be. Atleast every time i say saomething I know it can be backed up. It's not easy always having to defend a team that i know is the best team in the state against other teams just trying to talk sh$$ beacause they think they have a chance.

onmhockey, you sound very bitter about something! Starsalum is a very dedicated supporter of all high school hockey in Minnesota, especially the stars. AHA gets critized more than any team on this board and AHA fans on this board get it even worse. There is a double standard. I think people need to take some of this talk with a grain of salt and some humor. The stars will be very good this year, maybe not as strong as the 2002 team or the 2005 team, but my question is who is better than them this year? Time will tell and it should be a great season!

KC I have to disagree, I think the AHA team we see this year may be better than 2002 and 2005. They lost a lot in the defense of Krempa and Hummel, but they still have Barribal, Hurley, Matson, Moje, Cooper and Brutlag. Plus the addition of Matson II, who still has to make the team, they will be a tough team to keep up with. But as usual we have to wait and see......
Hope you have a good season this year. Say hi to JK for me.
________________________________
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Zamman, I have to respectfully disagree with you. Those are good players, but compare them to the 2002 I think you're wrong.
Division I: Howells, Taylor, Kronick, Kilpatrick, Hillen, Hagemo, Frazee, and Hummel.
Division III: Rollwagen and Kiaiser (both could easily play Division I hockey, especially Kaiser.
Don't forget about Krumpy who is playing Division I soccer and could easily be playing Division III hockey. As well as Cure, Luth, Elsen, and Trevor Bruess who is excelling tremendously in juniors and is getting great looks from some DI teams. He should easily play DIII.
I don't know Zamman, compare those players with this year and we will see!
P.S. I will say hi to JK for ya!
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

Yep Zammer,

To be more specific:

Howells - Michigan St.
Kronick - UMD & St. Cloud State
Huck - Mankato St.
Kilpatrick - Colorado College
Hillen - Colorado College + 3 U.S. National Teams
Taylor - Harvard + 1 U.S. National Team
Hagemo - U of Minnesota + World Juniors Team, NHL draftee
Frazee - U of Minnesota + U.S. NDTP, NHL draftee
Hummel - St. Cloud State
Krmpotich - U.S. Naval Academy, Hockey & Soccer
Kaiser - U.S. NDTP, St. Thomas (turned down Mankato)
Rollwagen - St. Thomas

And last but not least, don't forget:

Joe Cure - Played Mike Ramsey in movie "Miracle"

So there you have it. 9 bonafide D1 players, 2 NHL draftees, 5 who have played on U.S. National teams, 2 more DIII players (one who turned down a D1 offer), one who is playing two college sports (hockey at Naval Academy is trying to become D1), and one who played an Olympian in a great movie (he got the part because of his hockey ability).

So Zammer, the 2005 team and this year's team have a long way to go to catch the 2002 group...and the 2006 team hasn't won a single game yet. However I do believe they could win every single game this year...but then again...we thought that about the 2003 team as well, didn't we?

What say you?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... cliff77 at: 9/7/05 12:08 pm

Zamman might be right or he might be wrong. More importanty, congrats to all the D1 and D3 players coming from AHA, but that does not effect how the team will be this year. It sounds like offensively and defensivly, AHA will have another great team. But lets focus on the upcoming season
