Blake Bears
How good is Blake going to be this year? Seriously, with all they have returning they should be real solid. What's a weakness?

blake
They also have a very solid goalie. I'm betting we'll see them at state.

BLake Bears
Yeah Patterson is solid, but he is returning too. are there any new kids or holes in the team you could look for?

Re: blake
1331. speaking of the bears goalie situation whatever happened to eric dayton, marks kid? ivy league team? out of hockey all together. mark was a rabid hockey guy and an alum from blake. maybe eric just "cashed" in and bagged flatball altogether.

Blakes section is one of the hardest in the stat synergy. still no one can find any holes in the BEARS?

Blake D
Thanks Cruncher, Ok, but I think that they still have three or four guys returning on d. May be tough to crack with Patterson in net.

Re: Blake D
That's a good point ... then if we've covered their D and G, only the offense is left ... maybe some holes there? I know they have a scary good forward in louwerse but what else?

Not only Luewerse, but Leathers, Webster, Murray and Holm can all play some solid offense. From what I hear they will be a solid three lines deep this season.

da bears
While the bears always put out a good team year after year, that obviously doesn't mean much when you have to play, breck, totino, and in the past benilde in order to get to state. The loss of Wesbecker will be huge for the bears on defense, as well as the loss of John Patera who was equally as good as Wesbecker, and also the loss of Matt Bares, who went unotticed next to wesbecker and pater, even though Bares was a very solid defensive player for the Bears. Even though Bryant and Jayden are solid defensemen, they are no Patera or Wesbecker, and unless the Blake School gets some knew students that just happen to be great defensemen, expect the bears defense to be slightly weak. However, with such a powerful offense and a goalie that was amazing last year and should be better and more experienced this year, hopefully the defense won't be leaned on in tight situations. However, at the same time the bears great offense hasn't always been as productive as they truly should be, especially in tight situations, with the exception of Brecks third period meltdown late last season, hopefully hamre can find away to consistently put the puck in the net.

Re: da bears
i think it will be a good one when they face tg. they return over 10 letterers from last year and they have 2 new solid goalies to take the place of norling and houdek. their defense was one of the best in the state last year and should be good again this year. maybe good enough to stop the bears offense, and if thats possible then they have a deep group of forwards to put the puck away. patterson is beatable!

Re: da bears
Blake looks pretty solid. patterson is a really good goalie, and the offense with luwurse, holm, murray, webster, lethers and others should be really solid. Teh bears main problem is their defense, which is really thin. Johnson and miller are solid defensemen, but thats about it. I dont think anyone else who played varsity last year for blake would play at most other schools. jaidin (sp?) really isnt that good, especially for an older guy. if blake can somehow fix this gap (play johnson and miller alot and maybe find some freshmen or sophmores who can play) they have a shot in 5A.

totino grace
first of all, all goalies are beatable, if they weren't then no one would ever score, hockey would be a great game that way, and last years totino team was the cheapest team i have ever seen step on the ice, they only had one actually good player last year and he was the cheapest of them all, i might give you two, and noerling or whatever wasn't great either, he simply had massive pads and sat his fat butt in the net, that championship game should not have been nearly as close as it was, and in the end the teams cheapness came back to get them as a late penalty cost them the game

and one more thing
also, i am sorry for the not spelling jaidens name right, as though spelling is really what we are after here, and since you think your so smart maybe you should check your spelling in some of the other players names, like louwerse for instance...

Re: totino grace
This warrior girl would rather see her boys playing blake when the state tournament rolls around (not saying we'll make it but IF. IF.) than tg again....that was an experience never to repeat again...(strong heart palpitations occuring from memory)
but blake would still scare the crap out of me. deathly.

Re: Blake Bears
One new player they have is JOsh Birkholz, younger brother of Andrew Birkholz, who graduated from Breck last year. Josh is going to be a very good player and he will have a decent impact this year, but a major impact in the future.

Agree or disagree ... The winner of section 5A will win state

Re: Blake Bears
you talk so much about how lourdes is gonna be sooooo good, so you better be able to back it up

come on duece
we all know that wesbecker was by far the cheapest player on any ice in any state. hes just known for this, not to take anything away from him, he was a good player but you cant call totino cheap when you have a wesbecker on your team. blake should be good this year, no doubt but not better then breck!!
