RochHockeyDad----

I would have to say Rochester Lourdes should be up towards the top of the class A ranks for the next couple of years if it is true about Amundson and Grimstad both going there. They were the best players on there teams last year. And with what Lourdes has back from last year and adding those two. I am just glad they are not in Section 1 any more. They should be pretty awesome for the next two years.

iluvhockey-Why would he want to stay there anyway. He is all they have now if he stays. If I were him I would go to Lourdes. Lourdes is better than Century anyway. If he stays there he will not go to state again. That was a one year wonder for that team. Yes they were good but if Kangas was not there they did not make it to the Excel. Now he is gone and they have no goalie. And the only forward they have is Grimstad. If I were him and had a choice I would go where I can go to state and that would be Lourdes I think.

Hey Roch,
Don't ya love it when you make a post, then some guy laughs & criticizes it? grimstead

Post by iluvhockey »

Century will be better than Lourdes will, if Tripp comes as he said he will. Supposidly sold his house in Colorado. They have 5-6 good sophomores back from last years team. How can you say grimstead is the only good soph? Kneopke is better than anyone at lourdes... and since there section is so week next year, especially with lakeville splitting, he has a much better chance of going to excel.

Mr. B, i dont know how to spell your last name, but if your son stayed at century, he wouldnt be on that list, its a shame, he switched schools, so he could actually play <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">
do us all a favor, and stop talking up your team, they havent proved anything yet.

Class A PRedictions

Post by RochHockeyDad »

Iluvhockey

I don't remember talking up any team... I started a thread on Class A predictions and you talked about Tripp coming to Century and some of their players. Last I checked, Century was a AA school. Go post something about Century somewhere else where it make sense rather than clutter up this thread.

Post the top ten teams for Class A next year. REALLY.. try to do it.

OR go to the one on Class AA predictions and do that...

I really don't care about your opinion about the player you are referring to. Most (high school players) only care about what their coaches, scouts (college, juniors, Gopher State Festival, Advanced/Select, Elite, et al) and some teammates think about their performance/ability, not someone on an anonymous forum.

So next time, back up your opinions with some facts...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeyDad at: 5/26/05 1:02 pm

RochHocDad has it pretty close. Of course since BSM is moving to AA, then just move up the ones below a step? (they are moving to AA, aren't they??) Oh, and Warroad needs to be in the top 5, for sure. Doncha really think so?

Austin and Eveleth in the top ten?? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">
Not even in the top twenty....

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... tparker at: 5/26/05 4:17 pm

i've seen austin appear a few times on this thread, but i haven't heard much about them. it would be great if they could have that kind of success. are they for real? did a.l. lose a bunch of seniors last year? is austin better than a.l. was last year?

roch hockey dad... if you ignore something long enough, it will eventually go away. hopefully iluvhockey fits into that category.

isn't it ironic that he uses that screen name? can you believe the audacity? a little hypocritical if you ask me. i'm sure his next response will be "who asked you?" judging by his level of maturity, it will be something along those lines.

Rankings, Austin, BSM

Post by RochHockeyDad »

BSM is moving up to AA so take them off.

Austin will be OK but I don't see them in the top 20. They return their goalies, a couple of decent scoring forwards and Tim Kirby, who I think will be one of the best D in the state. He has size, speed, smarts, is aggressive and of course plays very good D. They were 7-15-2 last year and I'd say they'll be around .500 this coming year.

Glad to see this thread is back on track for now...

Austin will be a favorite for section 1a and a contender in the big-9 conference, but will not be a top 10 team
in the state class A.They do return the best player in the conference in Kirby (if Canzenello goes to juniors)
but lost their top forward and 2 other starting F's. They
took a big hit on D losing 4 starters there. They have a nice group of forwards coming back and will get some help from bantams. They'll be more than a .500 club,
probably more like 18-7.
AL lost 8 of their top 9 players. They have a small group of good varsity players returning and a strong jv
group. They won't be nearly as good as they have been the last few years, but with a strong feeder program and good coaching will still be a team that can compete.
I don't see any so. mn. teams cracking the top 20 in class A except Lourdes.Possibly M. East if they can fill a couple of holes. Word is that NU and Waseca are already talking about how their going to kick East's butt next year. Should be a wild section in 1a!

I think Albert Lea's run last year might have gotten 1A some state wide respect. Austin is a team that's got some name recognition being to the AA tournament a couple of times the past few years so a decent season could get a 1A team in the top 10. Could be Austin, maybe East, New Ulm, or even if West put it together them. Though Austin has the edge over anyone due to their goalies, they have 2 good ones. Isakson is good too and with a better team to relieve some of the pressure he could carry a team a ways.

The thing about class A is that every year there are a 3-5 very good teams then it's a crap shoot. Name and location mean a lot; for example Virginia and Blake weren't all that great but did get in the top 10 based on who they were or who was on the team. Lourdes, a team that was a 2 seed in 3A wouldn't have been a top 4 seed in 1A last year, yet they are generally more highly regarded than any team in 1A.

I think come the end of the season 1A will have a team in the top 10, and pre season I'll go with Austin.
