Quote
"Everyone thinks Hibbing is going to be terrible this year. Ya they did lose some good players, but did anyone see what their B-squad team did last year? They lost 2 games and they were to moorhead and duluth east. Hibbing is going to surprise some people this year. Don't be baffled if they make it back to the state tourny this year. Mark my word. "

Hibbing will be competative this year in 7a, but dont get to caught up with the jv's success, most large program bantam A teams could beat the jv teams from around here, the numbers are just to low to have real competitive jv teams, the better players either stay at the bantam level or move up to varsity (in northern mn anyway)

I have personaly watched this group of players (that are now playing at the high school level) since they were little, and through the many years of watching the various teams growing up and the level of play each team has played through the years you kind of get some kind of a idea of who is going to be there come time for sections

Dont worry Hibbing will be there along with Virginia,Hermantown, and Silver Bay maybe, and the Eveleth fans will say what about there team, but not this year, still to young maybe later Bears sorry

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... s>zorba at: 9/4/05 10:31 am

Crying about?...I wrote in on that because alot of people are saying hibbing is going to be no good this year. I was just stating the facts on how they are going to be very competitive. Definitely not crying. Just sticking up for them.

RochHockDad,
Dude I got to agree with what Iluvhockey said. Have you noticed that you come in to a Century chat to talk to talk about Lourdes. Go talk about Lourdes in a Lourdes chat. Everyone knows that your son is Brandon Bahnemann, so you don't have to keep bragging him up. Its funny that you are the only one that ever says anything good about him as a player, not that anyone says that hes bad, but no one brags him up the way you do. Kinda funny, huh? If I were him I would feel pretty bad knowing that my dad has to talk me up. Thats kind of embarrassed. You seriously need to get a life away from your computer and leave this sight to the kids. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, thats not what was intended.

he does have a point mr. Bahnemann. I don't think most people have a problem with dads and other people with insight coming on these message boards, but i do remember you talking up ur son more than once last season and i did think it was kinda weird. I'm sure he's probably asked you to stop doing that and to stop talking up lourdes all of the time.

your son isn't a bad player, but everyone who knows him knows he left century because he wasn't going to play last year.

other than their top line (yes your kid is on it), lourdes won't be so great

I am also interested in why T-G and Breck are being ranked so high, they obviously always tend to be at the top of the list and I have nothing against that, I am just wondering what people know about these teams and wondering what will make or break them this season.
Thanks...

I too am confused about why TG is so high. They lost a lot of talent last year including both goalies. Even though they did get 2nd in state last year, I don't think they will do great this year.

Breck lost some pretty good talent too, like Dee, Birkholz, etc.

However, they have 2 extremely good forwards (possible Mr. Hockey candidates) in Inderiedan and Fulton. Also, they have a very good d returning in Drake Herd.

They did lose both goalies, but they have a good youngster, Briggs, who will probably start this year.

Depth might be an issue. That is the main knock on them.

Pre-Season Rankings

So what if your team isn't there... I don't take any stock is these rankings until after the December Holiday break. (I don't know if you can say Christmas any more...) My guess is that the above rankings are maybe 50% to the good, and the rest will fall off.

Don't lose any sleep over this if your team isn't there, and don't go getting your reservations in St. Paul just because your team is on the list. The games will have to be played..

Good luck boys, the puck drops soon!!!!

preseason rankings dont mean anything...they are just out there to get teams that arent going to be that good into higher rankings....preseaon doesnt mean @#%$ just wait until the season starts

Im not gonna lie, it's about time that DL is finally being seen as a team to be listed in the rankings. 16 is good, I expected at least top 20. We'll have to see. Ive been watching them for the past couple of years now, it should be a good one to watch.
