Nice Feedback

Post by JLS 81 » Mon Oct 17, 2005 11:55 am

east hockey, you ought to consider handing your Admin role over to someone who has more objectivity. I came to your coach’s defense adamantly over the way he was treated so you can back off on your East hating just a bit. As for not answering questions on Duluth hockey.....? I have asked a few of them as an outsider to the Duluth area in regards to how all the kids in that area play great youth hockey and than for some odd reason we outsiders wish to know where the kids end up and you and most (not all) of your east loyalist cry defensive right away instead of helping us outsiders out a bit by letting us know that kids go to Marshall, East, Denfeld, Central etc. However you have yet to respond to any of those questions, sort of find that a bit interesting.
1) I will answer your 1st question forthright; open enrollment is part of the amateur fabric in sport...especially hockey.

2) Sour grapes- Sorry but the East students were well documented by the Duluth News Tribune last season and caused some forfeiting of games. If other clubs in the area had open enrolled kids not many (on this board) were made aware of them by the press and any subsequent filing of the adequate paperwork to be eligible.

3) Actually I am not jealous or thin skinned about Grand Rapids program and the East success of late. You are incorrect on that notion. "Just win baby" is for certain the mode of operation in amateur hockey in Minnesota today I could not agree with you more on the notion and there is history to prove that. A Championship in today’s game can be bought. Nice to know which side of the fence you are on as an admin you took exception to pounce on a buzzword...that is pretty much how I see it.

You will probably use this as reason to bounce me out of the board just like you did to ol' BIAP, below zero and Videoscout. We all I have to say to that is "long live them boys"!!!!!!!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... =jls81>JLS 81 at: 10/17/05 1:09 pm

If I am not mistaken, Chumley and their goalie are seniors this year. I wouldn't see them as a "bye" at all. Can pull off an upset, but I don't see them making the finals. As an area, they are getting bigger and usually that translates into getting better. Since they were at the bottom, there isn't anywhere to go but up and I only see them getting better.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Personally I do feel our dispute warrants removal from the board. As this is the first time you have ever addressed any issue with me over this board activity. I can refraine from making any such comments regarding open enrollment and or recruiting and let that be a gentlemens agreement between you , Mitch and myself. Your a pretty sharp fellow and now that you jumped all over me on this subject I am not dumb enough to ever go their with you or the various board threads.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... =jls81>JLS 81 at: 10/18/05 8:17 am

Wow! I take a "vacation" for a couple days and come back on here to find everyone in a rukus. What has this board come to? I think we all just need to take a breather. As for Elmnhockeyscout, I'm not trying to pick you out or anything like that, don't get me wrong, but Lee does have a point. You are a newcomer here, period. Let's all just get along and stop trying to bring eachother and our teams down. Like one of my co-workers always says "Don't worry, be happy"
Much Love
-Cloquet

I think it will be an intense season in section 7aa. Most of the 7aa teams look like they will be very strong. i predict Cloquet and Elk River in the finals.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Sublime at: 10/20/05 4:42 pm

Right now I would have to say CEC vs. Elk River as well. If Rapids can prove to me they have a solid goalie and some scoring punch from lines 2 and 3, then I'll change my mind.

i think Cloquet will take it home. DE should be decent but i think they lack depth at both defense and forward. I don't know a lot about ER so who knows. GR won't be able to contending this year, sorry Rapids fans.

GR not contending?

What reason can you give for GR not contending this season?

Grand Rapids pretty much just has to prove themselves. I think that last year people had high expectations for them, whithout much of an outcome. They dont really have any good forwards coming back with the exception of 1 and their goaltending as we all know is definitely a setback. They might be good, but we just have to wait and see.

It appears that CEC and Elk River are the 2 big guns to beat this season as they look to be the preseason favorite amongst the board members. Next you have to go with the Hounds who will always be tough come tournament time followed by Brainerd than Grand Rapids.
Should make for some good hockey in 7AA this upcoming season, good luck to all the teams

brainerd ahead of GR? Just curious as to why JLS 81. GR has never lost to Brainerd in the history of the schools playing hockey.
