This game will come down to goaltending for Rapids. We know what CEC has, and it's pretty dang good in net for the Jacks. The games were close last year, with the exception of the playoff game, which Rapids had I think 3 starters injured. Not having a veteran D like Hedlund in there really hurt them. Enough about last year.

Grand Rapids is a young team. If they struggle out of the gate just give them some time. I think they'll be okay at the end of the year. For Rapids to compete in this game, IMHO, they have to match the work ethic of CEC. Don't think to hard and be hestitant. Just skate hard and play with your instincts and trust your teammates. And remember, a good defense is your best offense!!!

To all lucky enough to attend, enjoy what should be a highly entertaining game.

Didn't GR lose a lot of contributing seniors?

What impact players do they have coming back besides White?

Well, I'll say this, Grand Rapids will play much better as a team this year. As JLS 81 said, some of the cancers graduated. A few of them had some skill, but nothing that can't be replaced. Contributers besides White. Well, at defense Stesjkal and Clafton are very good. Jared Smith moves to forward from D and he has Excellent puck skills. I liked what I saw from the games I watched while back in GR last season from Makinen and Glorvigen. I thought they both skated with confidence and they will certainly be a positive influence on the ice.

All I can say besides that is I hope more people keep saying Rapids is an average team and can't compete with CEC or East. That they're not going to be as good as Brainerd, and so on. Remember, emotion plays a big role in hockey. Let's just say I sense a team that is fired up for the season to start.

Are you trying to say it's not who's better, it's who wants it more.

could be

or maybe the team that wants it more is better. And I'm generalizing here, not just talking about Rapids and a specific opponent.

Emotion plays a big part in any sport, but there are so many factors that goes into a game a person could write a book on it.

Any team that isn't getting any recognition on this board or LPH might be a little extra motivated.

This should be a GREAT game. I'll say Rapids wins this one 4-2 with an EN.
