They are a very good team. They are rated in the top ten in A schools so they are getting some recognition early but I think you still have to play some games (maybe ten or so) to see where they really line up.

Good luck to the Wingers.

I think this could be their year they return to the XCEL. I'm predicting a rematch of tuesdays game as the 3A final come February. I can see them only losing 5 games all year, Breck, Blake, 2 to Holy Angels and possibly 1 conference let down. This should be their year to go back to state after such a long layoff from their 02 2nd place finish.

lucky tie... the bailey kid from RW scored 2 goals hardly EVER scores and a very weak skater and shooter. STA had an off night and was also lucky to tie.

Give the Bailey kid a break. He was a soph last year and scored five goals. He probably had limited playing time too. The kid scores two goals in a game against a decent team and you rain on his parade. Way to go Bailey. The more you cut a kid down, the better he'll do during the season.

So the only reason RW tied STA is that they, STA, had a bad game???

YOu don't know how good RW really is this year.

Plus, RW has excellent coaches. One of the best Head Coaches in the state.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... erator>One Smooth Operator at: 11/30/05 7:20 pm

Red wing seems like they could be pretty good this year, we tied them last year i know. How many returning players are coming back for them? Did they loose any big names or goaltenders, are they peaking out this year? whats the scoop on them, anyone know?

you must be from STA because that bailey kid is a very skilled player he had 3 points when they played STA he also played elite 2 as a soph and this year as a jr. i think he will put up a lot of points for red wing this year

RW lost basically one defenseman and returns most everyone else including two solid goaltenders. They will be a force to reckon with. I don't see any glaring weaknesses on this team.

They have one of the best coaches in the state too.

PS I'm not from Red Wing

The STA-Red Wing game was a fast paced game and a fun one at that. Skill wise- it was apparent that STA had more of that. Size and playing physical clearly went to Red Wing... This will be the Section 3A final since Lourdes isnt anything special this year. Should be a great rematch but one thing to think about, this was Red Wing's home and season opener against a team that just got off the bus after an hour bus ride. Red Wing had all the motivation going for them and at Aldrich Arena for the section finals.... its going to be much more even as far as motivation is concerned.

Dangles,

Get a grip. Most teams have played one or two games. You've already written off every other team in 3A. "STA this, STA that..." I think you should pencil STA in for the State Tournament and why not put them in the finals right now

stop with it already, write about something else...

That's quite the assumption. I don't see any writing off going on. Reflection was asked for, he gave you one on the game and the section. You should feel fortunate to have such striaght forward input, that is, if you didn't forget the title of the thread.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... eeAGENT at: 11/30/05 10:12 pm

yes wallcee how do you get off talking down bailey? STA already played one game while this was red wing's first. you must be one of those stud jv guys on here talkin up his varsity team. i guarantee you wouldn't have put up 3 points against this STA team. as for smooth operater, youve got some good insight, red wing has solid coaching and lost only one defenseman last year. finally someone's not jumping on the STA bandwagon. this will be the section 3A final and it promises to be a good game.

Wallcee1959,
Is that Adam Bailey from Red Wing you are talking about? If we are talking about the same kid right now I feel you are wrong. I think that he got limited time last year playing as a sophomore. He has a pretty good shot and is a decent skater. I played with him on a couple specialty teams for two years and the kid can skate and does know how to score.

STA will not play like they did this last game, next time around. All of their new players are still getting used to playing together, and Sophomore Goaltender Aaron Crandall is getting used to being a varsity goalie. I think once Crandall feels comfortable as the starter, which will be soon that he will be competing with Blake's goalie for the second best Sophomore goalie in state. STA is too good to lose to a team like Red Wing in the Section Finals. Also in myopinion STA has better coaching too. Other than Trebil I see the Vannellis as the best coaches in the state.

Come on people, this was the first game. A lot can happen before the section finals..... Red Wing will more than likely be the runner-up in their conference, and I do not think STA will be handed the final spot in the section. That section has a lot of teams that can play and on any night, someone good can lose and someone not so good can win. I would not count out Richfield.. They looked good the other night and they are under a new coach who may get them going the right direction. They play tonight and that should be a good game.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

kdavis, thats great that you feel so confident about STA. so according to you they sound virtually unstoppable, once they play together, right? we can also tell your "opinion" is completely biased towards STA. then you say "they will not play like they did last night" when they had a game under their belt already when it was red wings first? red wing should be a strong contender this year and you say "they will not lose to a team like red wing" when they almost did on tuesday, thats ridiculous. maybe if they would quit recruiting all their players you wouldn't have to worry about them "getting used to playing with eachother". if/when they lose a couple more through the season, what will the next excuse be?
