River Lakes at Monticello

If I get out of town quick enough, I hope to catch the last half of this game and check up on BJ Freshamn.

So who should I watch for...
what should I expect....

and most important... is the concession stand any good, because that will be my dinner (or as we say up north - supper).

Monti Over And Out

Supper is up north? I must have some northern blood in me then.

The Monticello concession stand is alright, nothing spectacular but I have yet to find one (besides the X, but is that really a concession stand there?) that is amazing. Hopefully the game will at least fulfill you a little, I can't imagine that watching a B1 PeeWee level game can do much for ya, but it can at least hold you over until a better game later on. Best of luck!

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Monticello..........7
River Lakes........5

River Lakes had 1 goal disallowed. Puck went in off a skate and Ref said he kicked it in.

Monticello got 2 gift goals. One was under the goalies knee as he slide into the net. Ref took a long time to signal a goal. When the goalie stood up, puck was at least a foot from the goal line. Second gift was a goal scored after a player entered the crease before puck was shot and interfered with the goalie.

Ellliott, did you make it to the game? I tried to look around, but didn't spot you.

Yes, I was there for the last 5 minutes of the second and through the third.

Below the concession stand along the glass where the players enter/exit.

It was an entertaining game even though not great hockey. I have never seen so many players lying on the ice at on time.

Monticello plays pretty physical and has good size.

River Lakes #4 looked to be the best on the ice.

Great rink and really exciting atmosphere with all th epeople attending and a lot of young kids - that's good for hockey. Parking is a problem. Concession stand did not offer anything appealing.

Overall a good experience. Glad I stopped.
