I think the Jags have more overall offensive depth that will in the end be too much for Valley...so im also taking the Jags 3-1. Should be a great contest

This will definately be a great game to watch. Apple Valley has two strong defense and some alright forward. If you look at the last two years Apple Valley vs. Jefferson you'll see that they've had pretty close games except for a few. game like 3-2, 2-1 im guess a 3-2 jefferson game. Plus its a home game for Apple Valley which should motivate them just as much. Jefferson has always been good on the road though.

This game will come down to a goaltending battle with the winner going to the one facing the least amount of SOG. I think Jefferson will get more SOG and more quality scoring chances and just might prevail in an exciting 3-1, 4-2 type game.

Two top goaltenders, will there be any goals? I think the baby blue has more strength up front, and will win, but we all know what great goaltending can do. Should be a good one tonight.

Who has better depth with their forwards? Any D1 prospects on the forwards for either team?

This is going to be a real good hockey game. I think that both teams are top 10 material. If I am not mistaken Apple Valley will have good goaltending and Jefferson will be a high octane offense. I think the high octane wins here. It'll be a battle and a great game as I see that Apple Valley is putting up plenty of goals. I will predict Jefferson 5, Apple Valley 4 OT

IF AV can put up 3 or more goals I feel that they will win. Fischer, Medvec and Beggs will be able to contain Jefferson's O to 2 goals or less. My prediction is a 3-2 OT win for AV. It should be a great game!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... otice7>Hot Ice 7 at: 12/1/05 3:12 pm

1-0 Jefferson after 2 periods...Goal by Levine, not sure if there was an assist on it or who had it if there was. Seems to be a battle of great goaltending

It was 2-0 Jefferson with about a minute left when I left so the Jags probably got an empty netter.

It was 0-0 after the first with Jefferson having a 9-4 shot advantage but it seemed pretty even to me with Apple Valley getting some good chances.

Jefferson scored a power play goal about four minutes into the 2nd Levine got the goal from the slot on a really nice feed from behind the net by Labombard (Hovey was also credited with an assist). The 2nd period ended with the score 1-0 Jefferson and while the shots were closer, 10-8 in favor of the Jags it seemed like Jefferson took control in this period.

The third opened with Apple Valley on the PP which Jefferson killed and then peppered AV with shots before getting whistled for a penalty. Jefferson's Scott Schofield stole the puck on a pass and took it in, knocking his own rebound past Beggs for an unassisted shorthanded goal. That pretty much spelled the end for Apple Valley as they seemed to have run out of steam.

AV's defensive tandem of Kyle Medvec and David Fischer were quite good. It looked like they got double shifted, with one shift together and then another with one of the other defensemen so they spent a lot of time on the ice. Medvec's a big, tall kid who uses his size to good advantage most of the time, but had 3 penalties tonight one of which led to the Jags powerplay goal. Fischer reminds me a bit of Brian Lee from last year's Moorhead team, he's a smooth skater but he had some trouble getting past Jefferson's forecheckers.

Jefferson's first line is very good, Levine and Labombard are very fast and I think Jefferson's speed wore the Eagles down.

Fun game to watch but I have to say once again that Apple Valley's arena is not a good place to watch a game. However, the Jefferson student section might be the loudest in the state, they certainly add to the atmosphere.

Jefferson has started well, but there needs to be progress made in the scoring department and soon. They now have Lakeville North @ BIG, Chaska away, and Eagan @ BIG, and if they are as good as they are ranked, then they need to have more than two goal scorers showing up in these games. This should be a good stretch leading up to EP for the Jags to flex some offensive muscle and get some other guys going.

It will help to get Dupont back. Everyone is working hard, but the 2 and 3 lines are not put together correctly. Both of these lines have an anchor weighing them down. Sophomore O'Donnell has been rewarded with a spot on PP1, and he kept it with his play tonight, he just needs to get that elusive first Varsity goal and then it will come for him. He should be moved to the second line, he needs a little help to develop into a HS scorer and would compliment Shupe hugely.

Line 2 IMHO: O'Donnell centering Shupe and Dupont or Schofield. This team needs to score more. I'm not sure the third line will ever be more than an intermittent scoring line, if they can do that and just play solid D and evolve into a solid checking line, this team will have an excellent mix.

Don't be shocked if Jefferson goes into the EP game on 12/15 having not let in a single goal. Probably won't happen, but its a definite possibility. The defense is looking good so far, a few things to work on.

Second goal for the Jags was actually Bryan Shupe, not Schofield. An incredible individual effort and it shows that it pays big time to follow your shot. Shupe has had two excellent goals so far and is really coming on. Schofield is just one helluva worker bee out there, but the center on this line is holding them back.

Levine's shot on the first goal was an absolute rocket launched so quickly that Beggs barely moved, even being very nicely set for the shot. Nice cycle from Hovey to LaBombard and then an excellent feed. Not such a good night on the draws.

Lindquist is a solid coach, I like how he seems to excel at building chemistry and cohesiveness, but he needs to change the lines to get more scoring, this team is underachieving in that regard, and he needs to get more active & creative at matching up against the opposing coaches lineup. True there are a few first-time Varsity starters, but these are Jefferson kids and they should do better. That will only help the first line.

Mediaguide- enjoy reading your thoughts. I'd like them to keep on coming. One thought of mine is Coach knew what was going on every step of the way - and that will show. (Basing this on more than the Jags - and a few hundred miles away....or so.)

Guarantee it

Congratulations Jaguars - keep up the hard work.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... cuda701 at: 12/2/05 8:13 am
