What's happening in this section? Is it just going to come down to Hermantown, Hibbing, and Virginia?

Does Virginia still have Sachetti? I was impressed with him watching the Silver Bay semi-final at Hibbing last year.

Yes Virginia still has Nico but I have not been as impressed this year with him. He doesnt seem to be as good as last year. Maybe he just hasnt gotten into it yet beacuse it was only Virginia's first game.
A few other players impressed me though:
-Mark McGillivray who got a hat trick and looks great out there.
-Scott Kishel got 2 goals and 2 assists. He is a good defensive player.
-Brian Villa wonderful defensive player

Did the goalies have a great night tonight in Virginia, or was the 1-0 score just a bad offensive night??

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >psmest at: 12/2/05 10:45 pm

Peterson from Virginia was solid, nothing spectacular as many of the 19 shots he faced weren't from in close.

Gyllen from Mound-Westonka was great, this one could have easily been 5 or 6 to nothing. I'd say barring a few Mound power plays, the play was in the Mound end 75% of the time. Mound-Westonka's defense was pretty good at clearing the rebounds and clogging up the front of the net. I'll bet Virginia attempted around 60 shots, a bunch went wide and a bunch were blocked. Only 35 made it to the goaltender and one slipped by.

1.Hibbing- Good depth, proved they can skate with class AA teams. should finnish strong.
2.(t) Virginia-Talent returning from last years team, fitting in well, Derek Petersen should make a difference.
2.(t) Hermantown- Two good lines and very Physical. Also some nice goaltending.
3. Two Harbors- the line of Ian Guzzo, Matt Knutson, and Justin Lee should make some noise, though, goaltending will be the question.
4. Silver Bay- Nate Breden, Luke Taintor, and Jordan Sandstrom returning should give teams fits.there soft schedule might hurt them in the long run.
5. International Falls- Could get stronger before the season ends. May defeat 3. and 4. any given night.
6. Eveleth Gilbert M/E- should be in the top four, but players out are Brodie Cundy and Kyle Sandstrom. they cannot kill penalties, and they bunch up in the corners
like a rugby scrum. Nate Svare could be one of the top Goalies in the conference as he made 60 saves against Hermantown Losing 5-0.
7.Greenway- Lost several seniors from last years team that had a losing record, got ousted by Hastings 16-2.
8.Ely- Could Beat Greenway, Or Eveleth Gilbert, but none of the others. They will not contend.
