Shots

Post by 2AhockeyOldTimer »

Mora started out flying in the first about 7 minutes of the game. And really dominated shots there. But shots on goal for the game were misleading, just because mora probably had 13 shots or so after the first 7 minutes.

Thursdays Game

Post by suckhole00 »

Any predictions on Thursdays game at the MAC? Since Cathedrals last lost to Duluth Marshall (5-2), The Crusaders have won their last 17 games and are red hot.
This game is too close to call, and will be a fun one to watch.
-----Good luck to SCC and DM.

WOW marshallhockeyrules thats a bold statement. You really think Cathedral is that big of a pushover. Maybe so but in the last game cathedral played them i think cathedral's coach made a bad decision. At the end of the 2nd the score was 3-1 and cathedral pulled their goalie and rindelaub had to come in cold and let in two pretty soft goals. i think that is what cost cathedral the game. as of my predictions i think it will be way to close to call. should be a good one

SCC Mora game

Post by 2ahockeydude »

I have to say this once, and will never comment on this again.. Mora should be ashamed of their players. That was a sad thing to watch. The real sad thing is that it's not all of the players, but their reputations will stick with them for years.. What a way to end a career in hockey boys... Why doesn't their coach have any control of those kids??

Some of the boys did show some maturity and I hope that their parents recognize that. It's such a shame when 2 to 4 players can make an entire operation look like a big joke...

OK, Thursday... gonna be a barn-burner I think. DM v SCC.. I gotta call it: too-close-to-call.... Could it be that a 2 1/2 hour road trip could be tough on a team like DM?? Don't know, only what I've heard...

See 'ya all at the MAC in St. Cloud

I really think the states slowest ice, the MAC may have a huge impact on this game. SCC is able to play at this slower level on that rink and may be able to contain a lot of DM's firepower. The bus trip too, will effect DM. I think that Rindelaub is playing really well, and if they get another solid performence out of him, SCC may be able to pull one out. Yet, if he lets in a couple soft ones, I don't think SCC can rally back against DM's veteren defense to win.

The prediction:

SCC 4
DM 2

This game is going to be a classic...

The past couple of years 2A has put together some dandy finals. The Pine City vs. Princeton game in 2002 was 3-2. And last year Princeton beat SCC 3-2 in double overtime. Does SCC still have last years final in their mind? Will that help them or hurt them?

My thoughts

Post by Ahockeyman »

In response to 2Ahockeyoldtimer,
I wasnt actually at the games but from what I've heard Marshall looked good and controlled the game. Giessler scoring a goal, I'll never forget that.
In the other game Mora shot themselves in the foot and could never get back into the game.

Well, the section final is what everyone has been waiting for and it promises to be a show.
Since Marshall has shown their focus by not giving a goal yet in the playoffs, I'm leaning towards them in the finals. It should be pretty tight unless SCC has goalie issues again.

Mora Cathedral Game

Post by RinkRat10506 »

I went to the game last night and expected a better game than it was. Mora came out pretty good in the begining of the first period, they had a hard time getting any quality shots, and had a hard time getting the puck on the net. I would say the game was pretty evenly matched, Cathedral goalie played a pretty good game though. Cathedral did a good job of not letting Mora get to the net without a defensemen on them. Mora took alot of stupid penalties, Kastenbauer had at least three, he should of been benched. I know who some of these players are and they do have attitudes so none of this surprised me. Well, good luck to Marshall and Cathedral.

I think we should get a hockeywriter (may he rest in peace) style of Preview on here. I can't do it because im really no good at doing that. But he sure did a good job at the previews. He pretty much did overviews and comparisons from lines 1-3, Defense, Special Teams, and goalies. That would be nice.

SCC vs. DM

Post by ptown tigers »

This should be a hella of a game. If you remember last year Princeton beat SCC i believe it was 5-3 (one weak goal against 4th line and 5 and 6 D within last minute, it was basically domination by Princeton all game) Then came back 4 games later and gave us quite possible the toughest game all season double OT. DM may over look them, because they have allready beat them. It should be a great game, and with it at the MAC, i would have to give the nod to SCC in this one.

damn it hurts to say it even.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

SCC has really been on lately but so has DM. Rindelaub is a good goalie that has been strong lately. Geissler has been very strong too, two shutouts in a row. That goal that went to him must even make him feel better then he does. Both goalies are hot right now! I am going to go with DM, they have been getting stronger and stronger. They also have proved that they can play at away games and win. Their tough schedule should help them with this game. If Marshall scores first then SCC has to watch out. Should be a close game, could go either way but i think Marshall will win.

DM-3
SCC-1

I'm still amazed by that goal against SR. How many goalies have recorded goals in MN high school history?

Prediction

Post by suckhole00 »

Im gonna just make a stab in the dark about this game. I think the teams are evenly matched and i dont think there is gonna be lots of scoring. With DM's veteran defense and goaltending i think SCC is gonna have a hard time putting the puck away. On the flip side, with the Crusaders starting Rindelaub, instead of Ziemann, i think the game is gonna be a stalemate. I think the game is gonna be decided by a 'flook' goal by either team.

SCC - 2
DM - 1

just my .02<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Section 2A Final

Post by RinkRat10506 »

I think St. Cloud Cathedral will pull it off this year. They want state because they just missed it last year. If the goalie plays good like the game against Mora, they will win.
SCC-4
Marshall-2

SCC/DM

Post by bodycheck »

It's easy to tell where most of you experts live : south of Barnum on I35. Anyone that sincerely gives SCC a chance has to explain to me how a putrid squad like Duluth Central could almost beat them at their place. If SCC even stands a chance, they have to score at least four goals. Frankly, that's not gonna happen.

DM on the road

Post by 2ahockeydude »

If my research is accurate... (read: third party...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> ) then DM is really 1 - 6 when traveling any distance against quality teams.. I'Falls is the 1?? I dunno, I think that this game will be close, and it could become a battle of the goalies and the defense...

DM beat a sad little team in Sauk Rapids, who was able to beat Princeton, (who seemed to lose something at the end of the season...) while SCC dominated another sad little team in the semi's. I don't know how to compare these teams via those games... so it could very easily come down to travel distance/time. So, I'll go out on a limb here..

SCC 4 (empty net)
DM 2

Hey Rinkrodent, here's my prediction: DM..6 SCC..2
By the way, I never said you don't know anything about hockey. You just don't know good hockey!!! SCC is going to pay for their pushover schedule. I also predict they will roll over after they fall behind by 3. QUIT!
