Whoah! I think that is incorrect. Princeton & Becker/Big Lake are still going to be in the Rum River as far as I know. Rogers football schedule for next year has Totino & Irondale on it.
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Just what I heard from a fellow RUM RIVER AD those Rum schools are out they will anounce it Monday but it may not go into effect till the fall of 2005. And Cambridge would have there hands full with Princeton next year Princeton football will be awesome. As for hockey pretty bad teams in thier.

Conference realignment would go in place beginning next Winter. Most football schedules have already been set so they will never disrupt those. Also, look for a final decision regarding Cretin in April.

Oh don't worry about Cambridge having any trouble with Princeton in football. Next years juniors played them their freshman year and beat them something like 42-0. Then next years seniors played them their sophomore year and smoked them to.

Are you being serious. About cambridge loosing to Princeton in football. And you said it wont go in effect till 2005 right. Well that would be mean that you would be playing the a team that as of right now hasnt lost a game since 7 grade. I would bet anything on that cambridge will woop you in football. But far as hockey goes next year you should win, year after it will be alot tougher.

Spring Lake Park?

Post by Huckleberry »

I heard there are 8 teams in the conference, with Becker and Big Lake on their own for everything but hockey. I did not see Spring Lake Park on the list, although I think they would be a good fit. As far as hockey goes, I think that for the most part, the teams would match up pretty well. Other than this year Buffalo is usually pretty good, and it won't take long for Rogers to be pretty good also. I don't see any of these teams going to the state tournament in AA anytime soon, but there should be alot of fun games.

yes its true...

Buffalo
Becker/Big Lake (both schools are itn the conference)
STMA
Rogers
Princeton
Cambridge
Monticello

And as for Dafreak0 or chumley whatever you wanna be called it wont go in affect until your a junior by that time buffalo will have a darn good team and will dominate this confrence there A bantams are in the state tourny and Cambridge is way behindthey still plays b hockey in the youth even Princeton is playing A's now. So no Cambridge wont have a shot in hockey but in other sports like football they wil have a cakewalk.

Nice try but i'm not Chumley. I'm the goalie Goldsmith. For the record i'll be a senior when that goes in effect. Also, yes Buffalo will be tough but we beat them this year and we will do it again. Our JV tied them this year so that shows that we have pretty equal talent moving up. Then we've been beating up on Princeton ever since I can remember in my grade. Do you know though what is going to happen to Spring Lake Park, Irondaly, St. Francis, and Totino?

cambridge might win the conference by the time it happens goldsmith when your a senior buffalo will dominate cambridge is still in the dark you gotta start going A hockey or you will never catch up. and I dont doubt you will beat princeton when your a senior lol you should you are AA they are single A so who cares. and as for chums03 or MnPride03 whatever it dont matter. I will be curious to see how you do with out Hickman next year. And your JV team was not to good they gave the Princeton JV one of there 4 wins this year. but ya Buffalo will win this confrence easy its a joke of a Hockey conference. But good luck cambridge in the future but you need to start going A's!!!

Yea I agree that we need to start playing A hockey, our association really screwed us over not doing that but their starting it up now at squirts <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> . The JV lost their first 2 games (1 to Princeton) but since then they went 16-4-1. Why are you so curious to see how he does without Hickman? Chumley lead the team in goals and assists so its not like he was depending on him.

Remaining Teams

Post by Huckleberry »

From what I heard, Irondale was hoping to play in the same conference as Moundsview since they have a natural rivalry and were just waiting for an oppertunity to do so. Totino was also looking to change conferences, I don't know why or where they would go though. Since Centennial is already leaving and others planing on leaving, Cambridge, Buffalo, and Rogers didn't want this oppertunity to pass by and be left without a conference in the near future. That is just what I heard and it could be way off though.

As far as comparing Princeton and Cambridge playing at the 'A' level, Princeton only played 'A' at squirts and peewees, Cambridge only at squirts. Next year Princeton will probably only have an 'A' peewee team, and Cambridge will have both squirts and peewees. Not saying Cambridge has such a good program or anything, just that the difference between the two is not that big.

new north suburban conference

Post by fatheadcoach »

Hey listen, here are the new teams in the New Wright County/Rum River conference.
Cambridge/Isanti (Go Big Blue)
Princeton
St Michael Albertville
Big Lake
Becker
Buffalo
Monticello
Rogers
AS I look at this conference, I see us (CI) matchiing up with schools that have enrollments of 450 students to our 1300. You tell me how they will be able to compete with us. We will crush them all! I love this new conference. There is a new top dog in town and he is wearing blue and ready. Yes, Totino was tough, now we don't have to worry about them...Princeton and Big Lake and Becker need to start worrying about us!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Is this conference even goign to help Cambridge in the long run?? they play 5A for football everyother team plays 4A so right thiere that kills thier chances of a good seed in playoffs. For hokcey they are AA most teams are class A so that kills thier chances for respect. I dunno I guess even if Cambridge could win the conference for hockey (they won't) it wont help them anyways. And the youth in Princeton is alot farther along then is the youth at Cambridge. Cambridge look at your numbers you should beat Princeton wow big deal and for football its a joke you being in thier if anything its going to make your teams not ready for 5A competion. but thats my opion. and Hickman was the player who made things happen not Chumley. I dont think he will do so hot nest year wiht out the senior thier to protect him!! Goldsmith good goalie but still your going to be getting alot of shots again next year as Cambridge hockey has been in a huge rut for like 3 or 4 years now, it was the worst time to move up to AA hockey and I see things only getting worse until they go A's in the youth or they will never catch up to some o fthe elite teams in your section!!

not just 4A

Post by fatheadcoach »

One correction I have to make is that Becker is a 3A football school, not 4A. Cambridge is 5A(Go Big Blue)....We may not be able to pound the teams our size, since we are often .500 in football these past 3 years, but we will be able to dominate 3A and 4A schools. As far as hockey goes, we won more games than we lost this year and were a 7 seed becasue of our poor competition, nothing will change with the new conference. We will beat up the poorer teams just as we did this year. Let's face it, it has been a long time for conference championships here, we will take them any way we can at this point. Embarrassing to admit it, but we need to get wins against weaker opponents<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o">

new conference

Post by hockeydad »

The thing to remember is that these are all growth areas. It won't be long before some of these other schools are 5A.
and as far as Becker being 3A in football...They could probably beat most 4A schools.
But god, they're terrible in hockey. Do their youth teams show any promise for the future?

I agree

Post by fatheadcoach »

I agree, Becker and Big Lake will eventually get to the size of Cambridge Isanti. Maybe iin 12 years, the enrollment matches up at that level. But you have to remember, in 12 years, we will be bigger too. Look what has ahppened in Elk River the past dozen years. Becker and Big Lake will never catch up. They will be bottom feeders in all boys athletics, much like the Bluejackets have become in the North Suburban (Go Big Blue). Let's be real here, Cambridge Isanti is going to have to beat teams on talent, look at their hockey coach and football coach and ask yourself if they could outcoach anyone? DOUBT IT!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Rumor at the tourney is that Buffalo is still exploring the Classic Lake in hockey, or playing each conference school once in a four-point game and continuing to enhance their non-conference schedule.

As to other sports this conference doesn't look like a good fit for either Buffalo or Cambridge. At least not for another 5-10 years.
