Public School Pride!

Post by shutout »

I have been down to see all the games at the "X" so far and it is great to see all the young kids decked out head to toe in their programs colors. Centennial , Moorhead , and Wayzata especially had hundreds of young boys there watching their role models play in the tournament. My hat goes off to the coaches that run their feeder programs and instill this pride in their program.

Thats great that these teams and there fans are proud of there team, but whats the difference if its public or private schools. They all have great hockey programs. And if u say that all private schools recruit, i know for a fact that hill DOES NOT!!

Moron!

Post by shutout »

Hey Slapyourself:

What about Breck? You moron of course they do not have a feeder program they are a private school! That is the one thing that you cannot get at a private school is the support of your feeder program, have someone explain this to you so you understand or watch when the public schools play and all of the young kids are lined up to "high five" the players as they go on and off the ice!
P.S. The only place you are a legend is in your own mind, you are showing there definately is not much space in there though!

publics and privates

Post by oldschool »

So the private schools do not have a feeder program, big deal..............if they do not have a feeder program and not enough hockey players choose to go to school there (legaly not from recruiting) they shouldn't have a program. My feeling is and I hope that it is accurate is that these schools were not formed for the sake of athletic prowess, rather a higher quality of education they feel is superior to public schools..................
That said, if they need to recruit and somehow make their school more attractive keep their jogs, make a higher profile for their institution, FINE. What it has done is thrown another twist into minnesota hockey. Instead of jsut outstaters wanting to beat up on TC schools the class a tourney has turned into: Outstaters want to beat up on cities schools but ANY public school is better than a private one. Instead of outstate sections and TC sections we have two public TC sections, a private school section(if the mshsl wasn't DUMB about it ie Mahtomedi, SLP) and all of the outstate sections ie central MN, iron range NW MN, Southern MN.........I like it the way it is if they didn't screw up the week sections as they did.............

I dont like the insults.

I think all shutout is saying is that he thinks it's cool that towns/teams like Morrhead and Centenniel rely on the local youth programs; the squirts and pewees come to the games and they wear the colors etc, etc. So do I. Who wouldn't?

I grew up in So St Paul. Thats what is was like. It was great.

Private schools, contrary to popular belief or ignorance, also have that kind of "feeder" situation. Not as profound in some instances but present non the less. Ask the kids at Highland Catholic, Nativity, or Holy Spirit, where they are going to school......Cretin. Over on the east side of St Paul and in Maplewood etc, its Hill Murray.

A lot of people think thats cool. So do I. Who wouldnt?

Good day.
