Why the championship turned out the way it did

Post by Nostalgic Nerd »

Aside from the obvious, my two are Centennial putting Gorwosky on defense, and Moorhead not utilizing the speedy #12 (Cory Johnson) more often. Every time Johnson was on the ice it seemed he was a danger with his exceptional speed, and for whatever reason (which could as well be good), Moorhead decided otherwise offensively.

I think the one thing I will remember most about Centennial is their cycling ability. Most teams would capitalize on their opponents mistakes with odd rushes. Most mistakes Centennial made still only allowed Moorhead even strength rushes.

The other aspect I appreciated from both teams was their ability to break off checks and maintain control of the puck, particularly Gorowsky and a couple of the big Moorhead players.

Any thoughts?
