wheeler

im not ripping wheeler here or anything, he is a great player. but some (alot) of the goals he gets are simply a result of playing with great players against less skilled players. the 1st goal against orono was a nice goal, but the next 2 anybody could have scored. and dont tell me he was in the right place when he is cherrypicking. he is gonna have to be a more 2-way player in college and that will mean less goals. im not saying he wont be able to, i think hes gonna be great in d-1, maybe NHL, but he will need to change his game.

Blake Wheeler...

Post by MNPuckster27 »

In the tournament, he was the BIGGEST player on the ice... most of the time the FASTEST player on the ice... and had some very good hands and vision. What else do you want from the kid he is a junior in high school?

Oh and about getting points because he plays with great players..... In that SSP game I believe he had two assists, both times driving around the defense and crashing the net and having a teamate pounce on a rebound. And on the winning goal he was flying to the net on a 2 on 1 which made the SSP defenseman hesitate... and it turns out they got a lucky break off of it.

The kid is the real deal. Hope he stays in HS next year.

While comparing Hockey East to WCHA, don't forget to include WCHA's head-to-head dominance over Hockey East schools. Over the past 2 seasons WCHA is an impressive 15 -13 -4 against HE.
