phantom goals

Post by hamboni »

with the occurence of taylor's non-goal against centennial in the state tournament this year it brings to mind(actually my dad's mind) a couple of others in the state tournament over the past years. one that you duluth east fans still mull over comes to mind. i'm not sure of the particulars on that one so please help me out as to year, opponent, etc. the other one strikes close to home, though. i,m not sure if it was 77 or 78, but scot kleinendorst blasted a shot from the point that clearly bulged the back of the net on the replay. it was in overtime against the edina cake-eaters so this miscall clearly cost the indians(i just love that name) from grand rapids what would have been their third championship in as many years. lou nanne must have been reffing. what a shame. any comments or memories?

right call

Post by centerman »

let the calls go. The non-goal this year in the AHA game was just that. The ref did not see a puck go over the line and the replay was inconclusive. Either way the ref made the Right call. A ref should never ever guess!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

aha

Post by triznae45 »

I dont know if anyone esle saw this but in the const. champ. this year lakeville took a shot from the point and it got lost in a crowd in front of aha's goalie, then there was one puck that slowly crossed the line and another that went into the corner. the aha's goalie reached back and grabed the puck out of the net and held it up to the reff like he made a big save and it didn't go across the line, but everyone had gone and played the puck in the corner and the reff wasn't looking. the fans even started cheering, i dont know what aha's goalie did with the puck but that was weird, i dont know what happened, maybe the goalie had a puck caught in his pads from warm ups or maybe it was a goal and some threw a puck onto the ice in the corner, it was 2-1 aha at the time and that was the final score, werid stuff

See What you Call!!

Post by jr »

All refs should live by this motto: You see what you call, You call what you see, and You never guess. The ref in this case made the right call because he didn't see the puck cross the line. Furthermore, he was in position but it was Impossible to tell. My goodness nobody even argued from Holy Angels. Great game to watch and the right call was made.
