Albert Lea next year

Post by siv101 »

Next year is going to be a great year for Albert Lea. They made it to state for the 1st time ever this year even with losing 1st liner Pete Bracker cuz he got cut w/ a skate in the wrist, and with a freshman goalie who played 2 varsity games before sections. Also Albert Lea only loses 4 seniors next year and they have some pretty talented bantams moving up. And let me also remind you all that Mankato East beat Albert Lea 9-5 earlier in the year and they had Bracker and there #1 goalie. This team is very strong and will be even stronger next year. I say Albert Lea will go to state again next year and in the state tournament it will be a hell of a game between Albert Lea and Warroad.

old news

Post by austin packers ONE »

i believe i commented on this topic earlier..i believe the big nine conference will be a battle between austin and albert lea..AL has a truckload of juniors comin back next year and austin has the sophmores with d will and quinn.....unless austin takes the option of goin 1a then i think no decent compotition will be able to stop albert lea from going back to state..there section tournament is prolly the easiest road to state...but they arent gunna do anything at state once they get there..lets not kid ourselves....
-petersen-<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

I have a couple comments to packer one. 1st of all section 4A is the weakest section in the state w/o a doubt. 2nd of all the battle for the big 9 title will be between AL and Century. Both teams have many great players coming back next year including Jonny Breuer for AL and Kargas for Century. Austin wont compete for the big 9 title until those sophomores now become seniors.

Post by MNPuckster27 »

Don't kid yourselves.... Albert Lea will probably make its second state appearance next year but if they play Warroad the result will be similar to this years! 1A, while not the weakest section (thanks to 4A being awful) it is still very weak and that is the reason that Albert Lea will get in.

AT BEST, Albert Lea will barely sneak into the top 20 in class A next year... Don't get me wrong, they are one of VERY FEW teams in southern MN that seems to be on the rise, but don't go comparing them to the big boys like Warroad just yet.

good point...

Post by austin packers ONE »

but what nobody else really knows is that austin has no youth stars comin to give any suport for along time....next year is our year...because we will have lots of juniors..and quinn siebel and d will.....you are right about century though they will be just as good as even...ONLY because kaNgas is so dam good in the regular season.....if century had maybe 3 big offensive powers like maybe brueur or hovick they could really make something hapen...they usually play to the leval of there competition...but anyway..we will see...no rule against a 3 way race for the crown..its gunna be fun
-petersen-<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

OH OH OH. U ask Alex Lair how bad i wanna come up there. Hockey in Colorado is a bunch of bs. I'd kill to be up there next year, and the way it looks right now, that should be happening. I've been playing wannabe hockey since i was 4, and i just realized at the beginning of this season, that CO is not gonna get me where i wanna go. Alex Lair is my cousin, and i wanna live with him. I've won state in A's like 3 times, and all u get is a your name printed in the paper in 10point font, nice huh. This year i played for my high school, and a club(midget)team. My high school team was way gay, because we had 2 seniors, and 1 was from another school. Our coach grew up in MN, and always tells us how REAL HOCKEY is played up there. It just strengthened my desire to play REAL f-in hockey. Our high school plays like 15 games the whole season, and we had 5 f-in goalies, practices every other day, at like 11 at nite, and sumtimes 4 in the morning. Last season was pretty much a waste; but my double roster club team was fun as hell. They know i can play real hockey, and how good i am. I'm nothing special, but i got the hardest work ethic when i want to have it. The club team took 2nd in state, and we were ranked 4th goin into it. My save percentage was .89, and i usually faced about 30 shots a game. The state championship was okay, but we lost 3 to 1. I had 42 shots, and played out of my ass. When they scored the 3rd goal, it was one i could have blocked on a breakaway, but the puck bounced over my stick, and the guy just brushed it in there. I was almost to the blue line, and my helmet had fallen off(cause i keep it loose, in case of close situations, then it can come off easily, and a wissel). And this is one of those life changing moments, standing, looking back at the wide open goal, i said to my self "this place isn't for me". Hockey is not a game to be screwed with. Play it right, play it hard, Play Real PLEASE BAN ME Hockey. I'll write more later. I'm coming up to the Camp that Nystrom puts on in July, and probably for the whole month, and i'll bring all this stuff, that means the world to me. My friends, and my parents just think i'm psycho, but i'm meant to play real hockey, in a real state. I'm meant to be somebody. I could write for days and days you'll see

Well you wont have that problem in Albert Lea (5 goalies for one position) to contend with. You could stir up some trouble coming to AL and taking a spot from a kid that has played in our program all of his life. Its been done before with exchange students and one year we had a kid transfer down from Shattuck. As long as your not self centered I dont think you will have a problem, just remember team comes first individual goals come second.

Consider

Post by John1Deer2 »

I consider my home town to be Albert Lea neway. If anyone wants to say i don't deserve it, then i think we should have a meeting. If Albert Lea wants to have a possible State Championship, which is way off, but reachable, i think they would be gracious to have a greatful, all or none goalie. But I Love AL, so i hope i'll help your team, if my fin parents let me

transfer

Post by upucker »

Lets get one thing straight, first you have to make the team then you have to show why you deserve to play before a young man thats put his time in through fund raising etc. and not to mention his parents putting there time in through various support ask Alex's parents they will tell you they have put in countless hours. Just trying to be truthfull with you, these are some of the things that will pop up. I played here grew up here had transfers beat out kids that I played with, it didn't bother me but you should of heard those parents cry a river when those transfer made the team. Poor Johnny Henderson's dad who was a big shot with the school was trying to get Coach Nystrom fired. You see his son was on the bubble and was close to not making the team (1982) didn't happen but transfer Donny Rae had to sit out his first year and play JV. Johnny made 4th line didn't see the ice much. A bit of history for you but, If your good you will play but some people won't like it trust me.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... upucker at: 4/12/04 9:04 pm

hey john1deer2...who in the heck do u think u r neway...u r just predicting to come right into AL and be the #1 goalie...i got news for u it prolly wont happen...right now the #1 spot belongs to casanova who made a big impact last season as a freshman and is looking to make a bigger one next year...you dont know what its like to play up here...its a whole lot different than colorado...if you do move up here than that would be good to have a little competition for goal next year but dont expect to make it so easily...the person u have to beat out (casanova) has been put in tough situations this year and has pulled through big for the tigers...he had a record of 6-2 as a freshman and his only 2 loses were to warroad and breck...the #1 and #2 team in class A...he helped AL win their 1st ever section championship and next year he prolly will do more

Goals given up in the 2 losses

Post by rams1981 »

Didn't Warroad and Breck put up something like 20 between them in the kids 2 losses? Looks as if the spot is very wide open from here....<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

Austin Packers One for some reason I really like your confidence, you don't bash other teams and are confident in yourself, good luck Austin next year. Do you guys have an option of A or AA?

Siv101 what exactly is your point? No disrespect to Wadena but they were by no means an elite team even in class A so big deal he shut them out. I'm sure he is a good goalie I mean he started as a freshman, but don't brag up a consolation round shut out to Wadena as a big statement for the kid.

I'm sure he will be better next year and so will Albert Lea, but unless they get section 4 at some point again next year, they wont win a tourney game.

Albert Lea, i hope i can make a big impact on your team, and make the team. I'm not trying to take neones place. I'm trying to play real hockey. UPucker, Al said we've met before. If i don't make this Albert Lea team, my hockey career is over, so pretty much my life is over. Even if i don't make the team, i want Albert Lea to know i love them, and if i didn't have Albert Lea, i'd probably be in juvy, and screwed up my life real bad. But I'll show sumone, something. Thanks Albert Lea for everything

P.S. what ever if you guys from AL want this dude so bad than fine all heez been doin is runnin his mouth about how he is gunna walk into AL like friggen moses and win the state tourny for AL because he is that dam good...i think you just a bunch of BS like most hockey outside of minnesota....we had a guy from georgia..mike urlick if any AL guys know him yea he moved her from atlanta last year and was first line and a triple A team that raped everyone in geaogia...he moved up here and played jv for us for the rest of the year..thats a pretty steep jump......and if evan long comes back then your prolly completely screwed because as much as everyone hates to say it he is way above casanova...no diss on clay...heez a good kid.....quik question john deer..how long were you on varsity in colorado??....im goin on my 3rd year varsity and i still got one more year after next year......your not better than me or anyone else.....your just a wanna be.....its to bad you wont be seeing me on the ice......goodnight.....poser

-petersen-<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

just to let u you know long wont be playing next year for AL...the way it looks now is casanova as the #1 goalie... i have to say u can expect a lot more of him next year... i am super confident it will be AL goin to state again but next year at state expect AL to make a bigger impact than this year...everyone says section 1A is the 2nd weakest section in the state ahead of 4A...but i will say next year they might prove a lot of ppl wrong...dont be suprised to see AL beat a team at state that isnt from section 4A and maybe even win 2 out of 3 up there...i know i shouldnt be saying this and many ppl will disagree w/ me but with all the talent AL will have next year...dont be suprised to see AL in the top 20 all year and maybe win the big nine conference<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

words of wisdom to JohnDeer

Grass hopper first off sale that deere and get a New Holland. Back to hockey, if you come here don't take the attitude that your the $hit cause Nystrom has strong team values and any individualism is looked down on. Goalies have come and gone in A.L. its the ones with strong work ethics in every practice who get the games. Leave cocky attitude in Colorado, respect all your team mates and last get up here this summer and get to know and play with some of the kids.
