Tough to disagree. Personally i'd put Cloquet in the 9 spot and EP out of the top 10, keeping the rest of the top 10 the same. Overall I think Lets Play Hockey does a good job with the rankings.

What were the final class A rankings?

Personally, i'd have something like:

1. Warroad
2. Totino Grace
3. Duluth Marshall
4. Breck
5. Blake
6. Albert Lea
7. St. Thomas Academy
8. Benilde St. Margret's
9. Thief River Falls
10. Virginia MIB

Frankly, the only ranking that matters is who is number 1, the rest is just not worth arguing about. Agree?
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

you can think that, but we all know number one is AHA!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

actually, we will never know, but most people consider the AA champ the best in the state because it is the best competition and has more depth.

And I hate it when people do this because it means absolutely nothing, so I'm going to do it anyways<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> . Warroad tied MHD and AHA beat MHD, so AHA should beat Warroad. I know it doesn't matter, but it's fun.
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

STA over Albert Lea

Post by Hockeyisthebest21 » Sun Mar 13, 2005 4:56 pm

Even though Albert Lea got two wins at state, I think you have to put STA over them. STA lost to two very good teams. Otherwise there are pretty good.

puckster, I know, I was just having some fun. Are all of those games for real? If so, that is some great research.

SB24, you have got to be kidding. I don't understand people saying Warroad is a better team than AHA. I think it is people just being upset that MHD lost and a private school won. I think if Warroad was the best team they wouldn't have almost lost the championship to totino grace and could have finished them off before double OT. I don't think AHA would have been taken to Double OT by Totino Grace.

But, no one will agree, so I agree to disagree, respectfully.
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

Yes those games are for real. And AHA v. Warroad would be a toss up, but we will never know. Warroads top players might even have a slight edge on AHA, but AHA's depth is phenominal. We will never know, both deserve to be called state champs under the current system.

SB, what do you mean, "with a real coach no problem"? Warroad has a real coach, right?

And I'm not so sure about Warroad having more talented players, I think Bariball, Matson, Hawkins, Dezellar, Hummel, Brutlag, Hurley, Smith, Havron, and krempa would beg to differ.

Plus, AHA is so young, there are many talented players that don't get mentioned and praised on here because of their youth.
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

and what do you mean "not as deep, but more talent"? Isn't that statement contradicting itself. How can AHA be deeper but not have more talent. Usually the deeper the team the more talent the have on it.
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

warroad has two good lines and then a big drop and if aha has that much talent and is so deep they should have been way better they they were this year kinda of said under achievers eh
Play another sport if ya dont got what it takes to DangleMcFangle.

And why are you dogging your coach? Didn't he just win a state championship? Something the current assistant coach at North Dakota couldn't do last year with pretty much the same players. I'm dogging him though, he is a great coach and deserves to be there right now!
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!
