I thought Hummel was playing a year of Juniors before SCSU. But I could be wrong too though. What ever he does, the best of luck to him!
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

Both Gino Guyer and Andy Sertich played some junior hockey. Guyer played parts of two seasons with Lincoln and Sertich played a handful of games with Sioux Falls.

Goligoski also played some junior hockey last year.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >Finn70 at: 3/14/05 12:12 am

Guyer/Sertich/Goligoski

Post by MNPuckster27 » Mon Mar 14, 2005 9:04 am

All 3 finished up with just a few games after their senior HS season. But all should be considered to be straight out of HS. Guyer played 15 games, Sertich 13, and Goligoski finished up with 10 games of junior hockey. Most players that are good enough to be going D1 right from HS finish their senior season with a few junior games, unless they play a spring sport.

Guyer played in 15 games as a junior and 19 as a senior. You have to include the playoffs as well.

Goligoski played 10 games each as a junior and a senior.

When somebody starts a thread that says college WITHOUT juniors, I would think that implies no junior hockey at all. Either that or the thread's creator needs a better grasp of the english language.

No Juniors

Post by MNPuckster27 » Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:11 am

I wasnt trying to start a fight, just named some players that played HS hockey one year, and D1 college hockey the next, therefore should be considered straight out of HS. After all, we consider Phil Housley to be straight from HS to the NHL as we should. No one really cares that he finished up his senior year of HS with 16 games of junior hockey after SSP lost in sections.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... kster27 at: 3/14/05 11:19 am

I think the poster was trying to say ask "who went from High school to D1 strait from high school without playing a full year of juniors in between"? I wouldn't really consider playing a few games before or after the high school system not going from high school to D1.
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

junior hockey is a scam. no other major college sport requires something like junior hockey. its a way for colleges to stockpile kids for years to come and for old men to make money off of young kids. some players are figuring this out, like niskanen, who said no to playing juniors in order to play for the U, instead he opted to stay in school and play at UMD right out of high school.

Colorado College takes an unusaul amount of kids right out of high school compared to the rest of the WCHA, my guess is that acedemically you're going to strugle there with a break in school. The majority of their team are age wise equal to their year in school. Some played their senior year of high school in the Juniors like Hillen and Kilpatrick. Stuart came straight from the National team. Bunkhorst from Lourdes, Thauwald from Mayo, Sertich from Roseville all came directly from high school, and Jamie Hoffman from New Ulm would have had he not opted to play baseball in the Dodger Organization.

Add Jack Hillen to the list for CC players right out of HS. Also, Mark Stuart is a junior, which is what he would be had he stayed in HS and went straight to college, but he opted to play his jr and sr seasons in ann arbor, so I suppose thats kind of void.

To the thread about juniors being a sham, do you ever wonder why young basketball players and football players encounter so many problems?? Because they had no system to develop in other than college, and many skipped that. You need to go through bumps and challenges along the way or else you have no concept of hard work and acheiving something. Throwing someone straight into the majors is only asking for problems.
________________________________________________________________

Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right

Read the whole thread. We are talking about guys that played HS one year and D1 college the next, we are including players that finished up their senior seasons with a few junior games.
