Hill-Murray to 2AA?

Post by PuckU126 » Tue Mar 15, 2005 9:58 pm

I heard a rumor that Hill-Murray will be in section 2AA instead of 3AA starting next season. Is this true?

No.

Check out the MSHSL website the new sections are on there. 3AA is unchanged I believe. 2AA just loses Como Park but no one is moving in.

glad to see 3aa not change. it will remain as it always has been a very competitive section. the hill, wb, roseville rivalries are enhanced by the emergence of centennial program too. hopefully stillwater, mounds view and others will field more competitive teams to throw more excitement in to the action at the coliseum.

It's great to see good section hockey but c'mon. Roseville, Hill, WBL, Centennial, and Stillwater will be very good in 2 yrs. While 2AA is brutal ,something should have changed. I understand things change year to year but all 5 of those teams will be very solid for at least another 5 years, it's just too bad. Balance 2AA and 3AA up and you would still have two great sections.

I must agree on all what newguy said. The word "brutal" is right when it comes to the strength of section 2AA. Whoever comes out of 2AA next year won't be getting anywhere in state.....

people said the same thing about section 2AA this year. Well, tartan played well in the state tourney this year didnt they. I wouldnt go out and say that whoever comes out of 2AA won't do anything until we see how it plays out.

2aa

any body who watched them knew tartan was a pretty good team but i'm afraid to say whoever gets 2nd in the section is prolly the luckiest because then they are not going embarrased in state

CDHockey- You can't compare the 2 sections, cmon now. Something needs to be done, not sure why the MSHSL doesn't see it.

i'll tell u all something u guys don't know a fricking thing about hockey, obviously section 3 is tougher top to bottom than 2, but if stewart comes back to hastings they will have a chance to beat anyone in the state next year, he's one of the best players in the state and their bantam team took 4th, and also cretin has a very good player in hickey coming back and a few others, not many of u know much.

Actually I know about them, and I'm guessing most of us know about those players. But hey, let me tell you something. Just because those teams have a good player doesn't mean they are going to go anywhere. It takes a team effort to be good <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/grin.gif ALT=" >D"> . Look at Hastings this year. #1 seed and they get beat in the semis.

Bigtime: Stewart will not be playing high school hockey next year. He will leave to play juniors after the football season. This will make Hastings an average team but will also see them seeded in the top 3 teams in section 2AA next season. To compare the two sections this past season, Hastings was seeded #1 in 2AA and if they were in section 3AA, they would have seed seeded #5. The Hastings future looks brighter than their present. It will be Cretin's sections to lose next year.

Lets be reasonable about this. Tartan had a good showing this year at state. For those of you who talk about how good WBL was for "outplaying" Duluth East why isnt anyone talking about how Tartan "outplayed" AHA. Tartan was a very good team this year.

2AA really has only had one "down" year and that was 2004 when Tartan got blown away at state when they were all juniors and sophs. Cretin has just happend to have a few down years but they are getting back to where they were around 99-03, which is a top 10-15 program, Hastings bantams were in the state tournament so they will also be back as a state power in a few years, and its only a matter of time before a group of Woodbury kids stays at Woodbury HS and has a good team.

2AA wont be as good next year but after that it will be a strong section. No not as strong as 3AA but better than a lot of other sections. Personally I would have put Roseville back in there because geographically that makes the most sense I think, and you dont want to split up Hill and WBL.
