There aren't really underrated players in the MSHSL, there are alot of players that have alot of talent and become hidden by their teams' lack of talent.

I'd have to agree there. But beyond the being on poor teams, othe stuff plays a role there too. But we've all been there so no whining from me.

there are also players who have great amounts of talent but are underrated because other players on the team overpower them.

Do you define overpower..... as stickhandling the puck into oblivion "head down never passes" or just that loud sucking sound as the puck disappears into a black hole "watch me dangle till I lose the puck".

You must be referring to Taylor Mattson in the Gopher State Festival. Your definition of an overpowering player stickhandling for the sake of stickhandling but not accomplishing much....especially not passing the puck or making plays.........is pretty accurate.

THREE PLAYERS:

MIKE FREEMAN- EASTVIEW DEFENSIVE (CAPTAIN)
SAM BAULER- EASTVIEW FOWARD (CAPTAIN)
MIKE MCDONOUGH-EASTVIEW FOWARD (CAPTAIN)

These three were captains last year and had to face a lot of adversity throughout the season however i consider them as being under rated and all of them are just as good as the top players in there respective categories of best deffensive players and offensive players. Numbers and Points dont mean everything, look at some of the teams Barribal, and Oshie played...then look at eastview and these three...

David Norling? I think not. He had a one great game and that was the state game against Warroad - but if u can only win games by kicking off the net whenever u are rushed then u are not a commendable goalie. Norling has more penalities than an average skater and he is a goalie he is way overrated and doesnt deserve the recognition he got... he had to cheat his way through sections cheating blake out of an incredible game,... that final game should have been breck and blake.
(the rest of the totino team is fine)

Norling

Give me a break, if you watched the game you would have seen the net at both ends of the rink being off during the Blake game.
The pegs were about 1/2". If Parade had decent nets for an important game this would not have been an issue.

Breck tried to knock the net off any time they got close to the TG end, once Norling was called for delay of game during th Blake game. Trying to get a call.

We watched the tape of both games and if anything it was the conditions at the arena, and not the fact that any goalie "cheated", pushing off the net.

You don't have a 1.24 GA and 94.6% over the season and not be a good goalie.

Nobody said that he wasn't good... someone just said that he was not underrated. He gets all the credit he deserves. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Wow hockychic u must strongly dislike him because he played amazing in sections and state, and how can u say it should've been Breck vs. Blake. Grace beat Blake before 3-1 and did it again 2-1 while outshootin them both times by like 10 each. And then Grace spanks Breck 5-1. Sorry to see your bears go down. Better luck next year.

I do beleive that if you have the talent you will be noticed. There are to many things going on not to attract someones attention somewhere along the line.

Hello again, sorry to cause so much.... tension (eaglemom). I am assuming since u are an 'eagle' mom u are somewhat.. close to Norling himself. And I am not saying that he wasnt or isnt a good goalie. It takes skill and a whole lot of balls to get in that net in the first place. And I have played in Parade Stadium and agree that the nets arent too deep.. I was just noting his numerous penalities for kicking the net off during sections and that that isnt what a goalie should be respected for. I think that totino team as a whole did an incredible job making a come back this season after orginially getting so called 'spanked' was it by Breck in the beginning and the returned the favor towards the end of the season. He did do an incredible job in the state tournament.. however I believe that goalies shouldnt be getting so many penalties (great8 tournament) - im not sure what his was for but a centennial parent mentioned it... he is a good goalie, obviously better than average, however he is in no way underated.
