Centennial @ Moorhead 2-3-07

Post by HShockeywatcher » Tue Jan 30, 2007 6:55 pm

The Centennial Cougars (14-4) travel to Moorhead to play the Spuds (14-1-1) at 6:00pm on Saturday the 3rd. The Cougars are the only dent that prevents the Spuds from having an unbeaten record. The Cougars are now on a 8 game win streak that could turn into 10 by the time the two meet on Saturday, while it's currently been 8 games since Moorhead lost and will be 10 once they play on Saturday.

Who gets the W?

I predict a close game for about 2 1/2 periods, then the Spuds pull away.
6-3 Moorhead

Coach Aus from Centennial will have there boys ready fro this game just like they are ready for every game. These two teams have developed a pretty good rivalry over the past four years. Last time Centennial traveled to Moorhead a fight broke out on the ice and in the stands. This will be another great game at the Moorhead Sports Center.

Moorhead-4
Centennial-1
Moorhead pulls away in the 3rd period with the drive to Moorhead killing Centennial's legs.

Spuds 5
Cougars 2

The Spuds will try to show that the loss to the Cougars earlier was a fluke.

Well then let them know that we are all already aware of that.

I bump because everyone (most people) are jerks to me when I start a new thread for a game that is toward the end of the 2nd page or on the 3rd page and this was on the 2nd page.

Nice Picture Neutron,

But I really don't feel it is a good analogy. The safe pick would probably be the cougars, they did win the earlier meeting. I was at the game and thought that it was pretty evenly played. I haven't seen Centennial play since, however I have seen the Spuds several times and they seem to be improving each game. They haven't given up more than 2 goals in any of there games since the Centennial game.

If played in a neutral location, I think it would be close. But this games involves a long bus ride and a game in a full arena, with a hostile crowd.

The Spuds gave up a goal against Roseau in the first minute and respond impressively. I don't think they will let that happen again, I have a feeling they will be up for this one from the first drop of the puck. If the cougars score first it will be a close game Moorhead 3-2. If Moorhead scores first, it could get ugly. Moorhead 6-1

I hear Slappy and Videoscout are making an appearance at the game.

The scout is supposedly flying in from Brainerd.

Slappy ... is this true?

That's OK, we all make mistakes (except Slappy). Just gotta harass the Ram fans a little when we get the chance.

In my opinion this game has nothing do to with previous games played, record, or any of that. There is only one thing that matters...Moorhead is playing at the Moorhead Sports Center and it will be infront of a sold out arena. Playing at the Sports Center is Moorhead's biggest advantage...not Christian, Deitz, Lee of Foss. I would expect the game to be close in the first but if Moorhead gets the first goal it will be game over. It seems that once Moorhead scores the flood gates open. A perfect example is the Roseau game...5 goals in the second.

Moorhead- 6
Centennial-2
